@ScottBrooks As an Oklahoma City resident and Thunder fan I just want to say what a fantastic job you do for our basketball team! Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook must be awesome to coach.

note: This was done in jest to practice the spoiler format and I realize you are probably not the head coach of the OKC Thunder NBA team. If you are can you get me KD's autograph? :D

I have found two... Only eight remain. AND I WILL FIND THEM ALL!

Oh, this looks complicated, um... is it working now?

    Glow

    @meagloth,

Looks perfect, though the glow is not incredibly visible. You should also note that these effects are not compatible with Internet Explorer 9 or earlier (and I'm not even sure about IE10).

You can also combine the glow with the font colour:
    • Text
    <span class="glow" style="color:rgb(255,0,0);">Text</span>

If you want to change the colour of the glow effect then you will need to manually add it.
    • Red
    • Green
    • Blue
    <span style="color:rgb(255,0,0);text-shadow: 0px 0px 8px rgb(255,50,50);">Red</span> <span style="color:rgb(0,255,0);text-shadow: 0px 0px 8px rgb(50,255,50);">Green</span> <span style="color:rgb(0,0,255);text-shadow: 0px 0px 8px rgb(50,50,255);">Blue</span>

You can also enhance the glow by adding layers of shadows. Each layer is separated by a comma, but remember the final layer needs a semi-colon:
    • Red
    <span style="color:rgb(255,0,0); text-shadow: 0px 0px 8px rgb(255,50,50), 0px 0px 8px rgb(255,50,50), 0px 0px 8px rgb(255,50,50), 0px 0px 8px rgb(255,50,50);">Red</span>

Varying degrees of intensity depending on the spread:
    • Green
    <span style="color:rgb(0,255,0);text-shadow: 0px 0px 3px rgb(50,255,50), 0px 0px 3px rgb(50,255,50), 0px 0px 3px rgb(50,255,50), 0px 0px 3px rgb(50,255,50);">Green</span>

And varying effects depending on the position:
    • Blue
    <span style="color:rgb(0,0,255);text-shadow: -5px -5px 8px rgb(50,50,255), -5px 5px 8px rgb(50,50,255), 5px -5px 8px rgb(50,50,255), 5px 5px 8px rgb(50,50,255);">Blue</span>

Personally, I don't like adding much more than a slight shadow. This, for example:

@Troodon80, I did that. I simply pushed the Quote button in thread X, and copied the text that appeared in the text field to the text field of thread Y. When I posted it didn't looklike this:

Ok, must have made a typo somewhere. Thanks for your help!

Exactly the same. The OP here is surely the most viewable post on this entire forum for me.

@kiwidoc, ochre is not supported as colour name. You can find a list of supported names here.

However, it is still possible to obtain ochre by using its hexadecimal code, like this:

    <font color="#CC7722">ochre</font>

aha - many, many thanks for that hint. Ochre is so good against black - very readable without being glary.

    Couldn't you just use rgb?
    Red
    <span style="color:rgb(255,0,0)">Red</span>

    So, like: ochre?
    <span style="color:rgb(204,119,30)">ochre?</span>
