Not a single Christmas song up 'till now, huh? Then I'll be so free and start off with some relaxing ambient music. While this song is not in my native tongue, it still has a very festive feeling to it if I do say so myself. :P
I have no one to call. As an aside, it just wouldn't be Christmas without the jolliest of all the jolly songs: The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl singing the Fairytale of New York.
And my gift for you is a lifetime supply of fresh bamboo!
In the spirit of gift giving, the next person to nominate someone will not only get a free copy of BG:EE and BG2:EE for either PC or Mac, but so will the person they nominate. If they have copies already, then they can give them away to family members or friends.

Free copies? That is, something interesting.... @booinyoureyes do you want a free copie??
Well... I saw this thread right before getting on my plane to come home for Christmas! It gave me something to think about on the long flight! I'm finally home and in my own bed about to fall asleep but I thought I'd share the thoughts I had during my travel. I may not be able to post much during the coming weeks, but I wanted to share for the holidays a pathetically sappy bit about some of the people on this forum I appreciate, and who all deserve a joyful Christmas.
Man... long list.
@bengoshi for a lifetime's worth of awesome contributions and generally being a very friendly dude @belgarathmth for the person who I agree with the most (he has excellent taste) @CrevsDaak for the poster I find to be the most amusing (and chaotic) @KidCarnival for being so incredibly clever. Plus great drawings. @JackJack for being almost as goofy as I am yet also insighful @Kurumi for being helpful, funny and providing cool creative suggestions @Anduin for bieng the most fantastically absurd poster. Also for his just, relentless crusade against broccoli @Foggy for making awesome memes and Iron Maiden @Montresor_SP for making awesome memes and being a great garden gnome @Eudaemonium for being insightful and amusing at the same time (and puns) @Nano for the constant, uncontrollable giggles @Heindrich1988 for the most interesting discussions, and for giving long, well thought out responses @Nonnahswriter for the best avatar on the site @Elminster for the best NPC guide ever. And also the best hat. ever. @AcridSyphilis for always using protection @StuckInMud for being the Power Man to my Iron Fist and the Doc Holliday to my Wyatt Earp @Southpaw for being the best person to pick my brain every now and then plus he likes firefly @Flashburn for the hats! Best Santa ever @Quartz for giving his views, no matter how unpopular they are @BaldursCat for not eating me @Silverstar for having the right balance of funny and meaningful @Shandyr for having the Christmas spirit and always giving good advice @fredjo for having the proper amount of appreciation for red pandas @Dragonspear for pure creativity and meaningful contributions. Plus great number-crunching. @Coutelier for fun fan-fiction. His love for the characters is palpable. @recklessheart for having the same love for the characters and the world and for inspiring me to take Garrick in my next playthrough @Shin for being so helpful with game advice and for working on the BG1 NPC Project like a boss @pantalion@abacus and @thrasymachus for always being there when I need help with a character build @typo_tilly for being cheerful and fun @gemhound for a plethora of good ideas @scary_wizard for being the sassiest dude ever
for the moderators for keeping us all relatively classy (as much as it is possible) and of course both the developers of this game past, present and hopefully future. The originals for creating a wonderful, immersive game. The modding community for always making a game I thought perfect even better. The current developers for bringing back a piece of art that needed some retouching and fine-tuning, yet also giving us more and also introducing a new generation to this masterpiece.
Merry Christmas to all of you and to all a good night!
I think @booinyoureyes broke the rules by calling out so many people. :P Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't @Shandyr idea was that each person call out one other forumite? Also, it would make sense if you pick somebody else, and don't just call out whoever that called you out? Am I assuming too much? Am I getting too carried away with rules and order? I think I've been roleplaying LAWFUL characters too much, including my real-life Charname.
Anyways I guess I'll play by my own rules, @belgarathmth seems very popular already! So I call @Isandir! Thanks for being an amazing artist and thanks for providing so much of your time and talent in creating wonderful Baldur's Gate style portraits for the community! And of course, thanks for creating my very own unique Baldurised portrait.
I hope your modding work goes well and I hope you continue your incredible improvement as an artist. I wish you a very merry Xmas (or whatever else u might celebrate!) and a great 2014!
Aww, thanks @booinyoureyes, hope you have a lovely Christmas too! And everyone else as well! To everyone who has a journey ahead of them, good luck and safe travels. I'm already home thankfully, and I ain't going anywhere so I guess you guys are stuck with me for the holidays. I realize now that this thread actually has rules and is not just for rambling so... let's see...
In high school band we always played this song for our Christmas concert. I haven't heard it in ages and couldn't remember the name but I finally tracked it down
Umm, just one person? Sorry, don't like that rule, I'll make it one per eye.
@Eudaemonium - my familiar. It's amazing enough that I as a paladin have a familiar, but having a Red Wizard who is the rightful king of Westeros in my backpack is even better. Fairy dragons just can't keep up.
@SethDavis- Squishes vast numbers of bugs of all size and shape with 3 words: "Should be good." When not squishing bugs he is capable of making some of the funniest quips of any of the team members.
Dawwwww I'm so touched by @Booinyoureyes Hamsters and Rangers and Paladins and Everyone everywhere rejoice.
@Quartz I feel not posting you here would be remiss. We often don't pop up in topics together anymore, but along with @SandmanCCL (Please come back) you were the first few friends I had on this forum, and were always the Blackguard Dorn to my own Cavalier (devil's advocate. Fun fact everyone, @Quartz's first avatar was Dorn, and we would often get their names confused)
My last big shout out goes to @Nano. Nano, you've taken the place of Dorn in most threads I'm in. In many ways I view you as a chaotic good ranger to my lawful good paladin. Our hearts want the same end, but we have different methods for arriving there. You are a great devil's advocate and one of the best minds on the forums that I can bounce ideas off of. You force me to think deeper, question more, and research even more than that, so that I can continue to make the meaningful contributions that @booinyoureyes thanks me for.
@Quartz and @Nano If either of you would like a copy of BG2EE or BGEE, send me a PM and I will hook you up. It is the least I can do for both of you.
Edit: Also @Quartz we should really get our multiplayer game going sometime. Although I don't know if it would be the same without our original gang of 4.
I have no one to call. As an aside, it just wouldn't be Christmas without the jolliest of all the jolly songs: The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl singing the Fairytale of New York.
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Just what my 32 degrees and rising Christmas was missing!
@Booinyoureyes, I make it a rule never to eat anything that makes me laugh, so you're sage, oops, festive typo, safe... for now
This thread is a pleasant surprise after sitting making jewelry and listening to YouTube Music for a good long while (toll- three necklaces and a bracelet). So I'll add a nice bit of music (old, as I am just old, too. )
And add two presents: For @belgarathmth, a timbone (He'll get this one) and success for Beamdog and everybody who has worked so hard on the game! And one more, this only metaphorical: A Life, to all those spammers who infest these boards.
And to everyone who lacks both a fire and a cat, one of both for the holidays!
Huh. Woah. That was unexpected. Thanks for the compliment Boo!
There's a lot of great people on here, picking out individuals would be tricky. I remember last year early on that the first names I took note of for various reasons was tiaxrulesall, Dragonspear, elminster, Quartz and Syntia13... but again, I've noticed lots of great people here over time and could probably come up with a list similar to Boo's there, heh.
So I'll just wish the entire BG:EE community a merry christmas Tis a shame I can't make anything myself to save my life or I'd share some portraits/soundsets but all I've come up with is just copy-pasting and cropping someone else's work. On the subject of soundsets though, if anyone else is a Warcraft II fan like me, you can use the sound files from it for some pretty cool sound sets, no need to resample them or anything!
And while it's not technically a christmas song, here's a christmas song! If you've never seen Nightmare Before Christmas, but like animation, you should all treat yourself to seeing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPblZa10_Pk
Thank you, @Heindrich1988! Though I rarely mention the alignments that I play (in the rare occasions when I do actually play now...), I'm fully with you on the Lawful side of the spectrum, so I'll stick to the rules you identified. I've seen a lot of your posts, particularly in greeting new forum members, and you always seem to be a voice of support and reason. People like you make this forum welcoming. @Foggy has also been incredibly supportive and is one of the big reasons why I've continued to make portraits, so thank you.
Since both of you have been named, I'll pass on Christmas wishes to @Syntia13, whose thread and portraits drove me to begin portrait-making in the first place. Seeing the sheer number of portraits she has produced over the years (and trying to copy her...) made me want to keep trying just one more...and just one more...and just one more...
@Dragonspear Yessss that would be excellent. I've seen Brude stalking around but yea. That'd be fun. I'd probably be totally goofy instead of roleplaying a legit character though, just a warning ... xD
4 sarcastic goofs walk out of candlekeep *start ominous epic music*
Edit: Wasn't the plan that we'd do a 4 person party and each of us would be multi-classed to? Or were we going to do a pure class run. I don't remember which.
Edit 2: And why can't goofy be a roleplay anyway :P

Morning!
Happy christmaa!
@Shandyr can I call myself?
Favourite version of little drummer boy:
EDIT: Welp, apparently not. Here's a link then.

Yay! Do I get a prize?!
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you!
Your presence (on the forum) will be missed if you do indeed disappear for a while!
And see, I can keep it short too! :P ... though to make that true, I need to stop typing now... damnit!
Anyways I guess I'll play by my own rules, @belgarathmth seems very popular already! So I call @Isandir! @Pecca - the santa to all mages and sorcerers.
@jakaminski - very unique art style; I love the stylized portraits.
@Anduin - Favored Soul of Cauli and the most dedicated necromancer of Faerun.
@Southpaw - He definitely has brains; the most suave Mindflayer around.
@OneAngryMushroom & @Kamigoroshi - the myconid and ooze to make the most legendary party I ever travelled with complete
