Yup. It's coded as +5; there are no opcodes or scripts or anything that change it.
Yeah, I know. I am speaking from a lore point of view.
Also, case in point, the largest thread to ever grace the activity on the older Black Isle boards, started by this banal question, "What does dragon's flight from Lake Dinneshire means?".
It even led to creation of a splinter community of another board, called Coconut Club.
If you are lazy, you can win the battle in the Temple of Rillifane by simply rushing over and placing the talisman, goblet and moonblade on the altar. Rillifane's avatar shows up and kills all the enemies before you can do a thing.
That's actually how I used to win that fight when I wasn't so good at the game. If you do this, the mage says "Oh dear..." before being obliterated by Rillifane.
Now, this concerns IWD2. One of the creatures that sparked a lot of controversy, because players had a hard time finding it, was the Abominable Snowman.
It can be found on the map of Cold Marshes and is one tough customer, especially in HoF. Immune to mostly anything except fire damage.

I thought that was how you were supposed to play it.

What, and let Rillifane steal your XP?
I actually usually play 50/50. I let Rillifane take over if things get difficult, but I thought that I wasn't following the script when I did that. One of the things that I love to do is avoid following the script. Thus I spent ages working out how to kill the demonknight at the TOP of Durlag's Tower; Killing Tazok at the bandit camp; killing Gallor; getting Oublek killed by the baby wyvern etc. etc. The problem was that if I managed to achieve something like that, if I posted about it, the devs would change things so that it was no longer possible.
If you use a Protection from Undead scroll on a lich, it won't be able to cast spells on itself. No PFMW, no Time Stop; nothing.
In fact, it seems to prevent the lich from casting any spells at all, probably because the script is preventing it from functioning properly.
Yes, this is something that I actually found out while modding. If you give a creature protection from itself, it will be unable to cast spells on itself. It can't even cast spells on itself with the ApplySpell() or ReallyForceSpell() script actions.
The "Protection from Creature Type" effect is much stricter than simply being invisible. Even creatures that can see invisibility cannot see someone who has protection from them.
Did you know that BG1 plays fast and loose when it comes to Gnomes?
Mutamin, the mad statue fetishist, is an Abjurer, and those horror spells he uses could never be used if he were an Illusionist. Galtok, the gnome fleeing from kobolds in Nashkel mines, is a Fighter/Mage. Tellan, a gnomic mage in the ice maze, is an Invoker.
No wonder Quayle's so uppity.
Bonus: Did you know that if your familiar is suffering from acid arrows, or some other damaging effect and you put it in your pack, it can still die? The dead familiar causes no constitution or HP loss, and their icon is still in your inventory, however releasing it does nothing except clear the slot.
All this talk about Rillifane and it brings back memories.
Did you know, that Rillifane Rallathil is basically the Chaotic Good Elven version of Silvanus? Also a patron of elven druids and especially Wild/Green/Sylvan Elves. No wonder he's connected with the Tree of Life in BG2, his symbol is a tree.

You may then summon another familiar.
Disconfirmed. In both unmodded EE and in modded EET, the familiar will die immediately after being released, and the main character suffers CON drain just like always.

Hm. Are you unsummoning then resummoning it then it dies?
Literally just happened to me when I posted it (latest version BG:EEE), fairy dragon with mirror images up to tank Mutamin, took one hit without damage, recalled just as Mutamin cast another acid arrow targeting it. Died shortly after Mutamin's death, possibly when reloading the quicksave over his corpse, and... now have a 28 HP with a 5/6 Mage/Thief with 6 Con and Max HP rolls off.

I summon it, cast Acid Arrow, let it approach death, put it back in the inventory, wait several seconds, and then release it. It dies, the main character loses both the bonus HP and 1 CON, and I am allowed to summon a new familiar to replace the bonus HP but not the CON. Same behavior as any familiar death.
For the record, none of the portraits are exactly animesque (the second one is a little bit), but the first slot is Onion-san from Undertale, and the original character is most definitely animesque.

Mmkay, I never actually released the familiar, it was actually unsummoned and in my pack when it took the fatal damage and died. Whether this is a consequence of the first DOT it was suffering, or the second acid arrow the mad gnome cast after it was recalled I can't say, but it definitely took damage, and died, before being released once more.
I'm having bad restartitis of late, so maybe I'll be able to replicate it myself on today's character.
I think most people know that Mind Flayers fall within the hit dice requirement to be killed by Death Spell, although their high magic resistance makes it unlikely you'll get them unless you're lucky or there's a group. That said, what you might not know is that the Elder Brain in the Illithid city can also die to Death Spell, something I only found out just now when I wanted to clear out the Umber Hulk in the final chamber. I got it, and a Mind Flayer, and the Elder Brain all at once, just leaving me the Ulitharid and golems to fight.
Did you know Centeol, the fat woman you find in the spider's nest of the cloakwood in BG1, was cursed by a certain Jon Irenicus for killing his wife? Because I didn't lol.
Did you know that Shar-teel was supposed to show up in Throne of Bhaal?
At some point (roughly 13 years ago) I read on the Interplay boards that Bioware team members admitted that Shar-teel was supposed to make an appearance, but the game was rushed and they had no time to write lines, a story and character development for her. Her placement was supposed to be in Yaga Shura's Temple. She was replaced by Ehlastra, which had just a short dialogue.
I haven't been following this thread from the start so I'm not sure if this has already come up but...
Did you know that if you are playing a dwarf in IWD some of the villagers in Easthaven will think you are part of some secret dwarven expedition here to reclaim Dorn's Deep. You can even get one of them to give you a small gem for a promise to share some of the recovered dwarven wealth with them.

...But that was because I didn't know Rillifane could do that. I thought you couldn't summon Rillifane until Suneer was dead.

Wild Elf Druids are probably my favorite race/class combination in 3.5E and I used to play one, with Rillifane Rallathil as my character's patron.

No wonder that Fairy dragon died...
There are zero anime characters in either screenshot...

I apologize for nothing.
