You can use the fact that you can unlearn mage spells, to unlearn and relearn the spells from scrolls, over and over, for a huge xp boost. It works even better for solo characters
Hell yeah! 1500000xp in Promenade for solo fmt or blade fresh out the Irenecus dungeon!
Did you know there is a "Vorpal Squirrel" in BG2? Unfortunately it's not present in the game, but you can summon it via console: C:CreateCreature("vorsquir"). Take care though, this creature is deadly (but not invulnerable).
If anyone wondered where vorpal squirrels are present...
If you go to the second floor of the Sorcerous Sundries with Xzar in your party, the mages up there recognize him as one of their own and leave peacefully after a short dialogue. This is well known.
It is less well known that if you go up there with Montaron but without Xzar, they will still recognize Monty and leave peacefully, so again you miss out on the fight and loot. Grrr....
Only found out recently because Xzar tragically died on a "naked gibberling hunt" scant minutes before I met Baeloth.
Since Sarevok's death runs on a health check script, it's perfectly possible to "kill him" with a bare fists attack that would otherwise be incapable of slaying even a gibberling.

Mizhena is indeed coded as female in SOD game files.
You know, I have been wondering if she actually has physically transitioned. She does have the female character model, but that couldbe just some form of stuffed bra or something. I mean, thanks to the magic in the FR, she might as well be polymorphed nether scroll/ girdle style. (Though even if she isn't, I am guessing she actually looks rather androgynous/ feminine, given that the player or any of the NPCs don't pick up on her looks "dude in drag" style.)
In IWD2, the Most Powerful Vanquished section is especially wonky due to challenge ratings. I've often seen characters late into the game whose greatest victory was over a support beam.
The game thinks Firkraag is stronger than Demogorgon in the Most Powerful Vaquished section.
Ditto for a Greater Basilik over almost everything in BG1
Try fighting Firkraag outside where he can fly and breathe fire on you. Demogorgon wouldn't be able to touch him.
Just like that black dragon guarding the lantern.
Baldur's Gate dragons are mentally challenged.
They have wings. The enemies have +4 swords. So rather than fly, they wing buffet their foes. Even the dragons in Skyrim are smarter than Baldur's Gate dragons...
I am always surprised how easy it is to defeat video games' dragons.
In pen and paper even a young dragon may be a challenge for a group. Spells, mobility, speed and resistances alone are enough to challenge most groups. Add to that the fact that they are intelligent creatures who probably have allies/minions and, depending on their age, had centuries to plan escape routes and have traps placed inside their lairs and you have to be insane to challenge one without proper preparation.
Of course if the DM does not play the dragon as a stupid creature who does not remember he can fly and just stays there using his breath weapon and receiving every blow from the group's attacks without even considering running away...
Similarly it's always bothered me that wyverns (seen in an original cut scene carrying off a cow at significant altitude) always choose to hover within sword reach of the ground when they ambush you out in the open in the Cloakwood.

Maybe they were too heavy to fly properly after they finished eating the cow
Stein, one of the rogues in the Athkatla Graveyard at night, uses the same soundset as the Iron Throne guards in BG1. Infact he's the only one using an old enemy soundset in the entire game.
Did you know that baldurs gate 2 (and hence the enhanced editions) have mirrored character sprites? This means if you looking in one direction and then the other, the hand you are holding you weapon in changes. This was not the case with the original bg1 sprites
In the enhanced edition games, loading times are almost instantaneous.
If you have a character which you want to enter stealth mode but keeps failing due to a low stealth score: Quicksave with "Q", try to enter stealth, and if you fail, Quickload with "L" to try again immediately
This method is much faster and wastes less time than spending time waiting around for stealth mode to come off of cooldown to try again.

(many here are probably aware of this but I figured I'd share it anyways)
In the original BG1 having 20 constitution was really useful because it meant that upon resting you would automatically heal all of your health. If you wanted to heal your party you had to rest and then cast spells on your party members as needed. BG2 however introduced the "rest until healed" feature, so this regeneration bonus was not nearly as big of an advantage.

as a solo fighter I remember back then I would drop a random piece of loot on the ground and cast larloch/vamp touch on it between each rest and repeat this around 4-5 times for full health
If Sarevok kills the remaining duke/duchess during the short time he's active after the dopplegangers are dead, you still lose. His AI sometimes aggros on them if you run too far.
And ontop of that, if you somehow survive the Autokill sequence, Angelo and a group of hostile fists actually enter the palace and attack you. But I suspect people don't normally have enough time to see it. I know I never did.

Belhifet is immune to all disablers except for three: Web, Slow, and Hold Monster.
