*Sarevok readies himself for the inevitable Gargoyle attack* Prepare yourself Imoen, that Gargoyle is bound to be well fed by now, soon all it will want is blood.
Once again, Tiaxina fills the hands, and the gems are crushed. It's like watching a carnival game... too fun to look away from.
I think the DM is trying to tell us we are wasting our time and money. Alora goes into the sphere room and starts touching the coloured spheres (at least the ones she can reach). Will Minsc come and hold her up so she can get to the ones in hard to reach places?
OOC: Does Sarevok the level 9 Deathbringer still have the fun gaze attack? Or in case of balance, am I just a boring old Fighter (which explains this shield.)
Minsc? So you think you can protect Alora... Why have you not sought out the source of the red light, it seems even our mighty Paladins fear it. Prove your affection and protect Alora... as you protected Aerie.
*Voice: More, feed it more and more. It shall come to life and you shall be its ruler. You can command it to slay your companions and they will know nothing of your deception!*
*Tiaxina slowly places another set of gems into the hands of the Gargoyle, quivering with a strange mix of fear and exhilaration, exhilaration which sickens her to her core.*
Once more, the gargoyle's hands crush the gems. Suddenly a voice speaks. "You must gather... Ahem, erhum... I mean, Your sacrifice was not in vain. Look to the fourth to find your gain."
Sarevok hears something fall from the fourth hand, but sees nothing.
*Tiaxina drops to her knees (NOT LIKE THAT) and starts searching around on the floor near the fourth hand*
Did you say the sound came from near here Bhaalspawn?
OOC: I had picked up the broken hand, so it makes sense it just dropped something that we can't see. Right below me. I'd dump my whole bag, but that would be messy if my Javelins went off... Gives me an iidea on how to keep Alora in line.
I was sure Hell brought me here to destroy something, anything. Yet now I have been stabbed, burned, electrocuted and now for the final indignity. I crawl along the ground.. Sarevok does NOT CRAWL!
*kicks the ground in front of himself and walks away muttering about life better in Hell*
OOC Guys I think I am going to call it a night. Yesterday's 4am finish took it out of me. Good luck with finding what the gargoyle dropped. Don't let Sarevok be too mean to me ...
After about 10 minutes of searching, Alora feels something. It's covered in a kind of dust and when she wipes it off, she is holding a hand-sized gem with two flat sides (front and back) and faceted edges.
Well Tiaxana... What is this thing? Or should I ask the quivering mage over there, seems afraid of his own Shadow. He's not even uttered a word, I knew being in my own presence had that affect on the weak minded.
"It's hopeless," the despondent voice of Xan told the short female. "Unless, of course, you wish to crush more of your wealth into worthless, pointless and horribly irrecoverable dust." While Xan understood the desire to do something, there was simply no reason to carry out exercises in futility.
It seems the mage has not been payign attention to Tiaxina's exploits. There was nothing in vain, she has been gifted this gem by the gargoyle *she points at the gem Alora is holding* and now you need to tell Tiaxina what it is mage.
*Voice: Wouldn't it be nice if a mage was of some use for once, rather than just target practice or a way for death to slip us by*
Comments
Prepare yourself Imoen, that Gargoyle is bound to be well fed by now, soon all it will want is blood.
"We should not be allowing this evil to travel with us. Let me kick his butt and leave him to the snakes."
*Grabs the broken hand for the memory*
"Minsc will not fail you."
Oh, too soon?
*Tiaxina slowly places another set of gems into the hands of the Gargoyle, quivering with a strange mix of fear and exhilaration, exhilaration which sickens her to her core.*
*backs away slowly, still facing the Gargoyle*
Sarevok hears something fall from the fourth hand, but sees nothing.
I must have a hole in my bag...
*crawls along the floor below, feeling for whatever dropped.. I didn't think my golden contacts were made of glass*
I am useless at this, Alora or Imoen would have better luck. HA! Alora is already halfway to the floor already.
Did you say the sound came from near here Bhaalspawn?
See it? Could one of you paladins dispel any magic in this room?
*kicks the ground in front of himself and walks away muttering about life better in Hell*
