I've finally started making use of my deviantart page, and I'm trying to get a feel for the community. The feel I'm getting right now is.... Mostly anime porn. There's a lot of very good art and interesting projects, but it very hard to find, sifting through all these naked, or nearly naked women, even with "mature content" filtered. It's very frustrating and mildly repulsive. I don't know what I expected from a huge, free to use art site, but I had kinda hoped...
Also, does anyone know what a llama badge is? Someone gave me one(though I seem to have misplaced it.)
Anime porn? Eh, I mostly see 'artistic' nudes and nearly-nudes. Shame, that. I've suggested removing everything in that category from the front page, whether it's mature labelled or not.
Mm. I *was* browsing photography, so that probably didnt help.
I joined the BG group, and I'll look into other ones.
Now with you guys the future games will be mind-blowing!
I still remember one of Trent Oster's tweets that one just has to make a programme, a mod, just has to show the skills and then he (she) has a chance of getting the Devs' attention.
The constant enlarging of the team, adding modders to it shows that it is really possible.
It's an amazing thing in the modern world: if you have skills, your dream can come true. The latest additions to the team confirm it:)
I'm glad that people whom I know - at least from the forum - will work on the continuation of games I love.
@bengoshi thanks for info. I wish to see official thread where Beamdog announces new additions to its team. I saw that @elminster became blue, but had no luck with finding any info. I wonder if they will be working on Adventure Y, some new project or they were hired to help with patching EE's. I imagine with @elminster's great knowledge of FR lore he could add a nice few touches to future projects. Shame that modding scene hurts with lack of active modders now, though. I wonder if they tried to recruit @Demivrgvs at some point. He could do a lot of great good things to items. They should hire him during BGEE development, that's for sure
The official thread would be awesome. For now, we have to settle for checking the the Activity page for news like " person A, person B and person C earned the BGEE Team Member badge ".
Also, you can check http://forum.baldursgate.com/badge/bgee to see who has joined the team recently. It shows the Devs' team includes at least 39 people registered on the forum.
Ah, neat. Didn't know I can check it this way I'd be curious to know who is responsible for what and in which project, though. It's hard to imagine that everyone's working on Adventure Y right now. The flip side is that both SHS and G3 forums seems to be sort of abandoned by their owners. Both @LiamEsler and @CamDawg aren't active at all.
Sorry for double posting, but damn, there's like the whole new forum in this activity page. Why on earth did I miss it for all this time? Lol
Anyway I've been thinking if devs actively seeking new modders to hire or if they applied themselves for job. There are quite a few modders who are not so active on this forum, but do a great job in modding scene. Just to mention @swit and @LavaDelVortel ot few other Polish modders who are not visiting this forum. I bet there are talented modders in other local communities too (I think French modding scene is strong for instance). There are several very good Polish mods completely unknown because they were not translated to Polish, but otherwise splendid.

Yes, it still feels unreal to me. It is just sinking in that I am now part of that team who is working on the games I learned to love as a kid. Totally mind-boggling!

@meagloth@bengoshi I am subscribed to a lot of groups on DeviantArt. I discard at least ten pictures for every one I use in-thread. Lots of nudes, near-nudes and so on. There was a great feral druid picture (or would have made a great feral druid pic if it wasn't for the fact that all he was wearing was a layer of mud/sludge/oil and his package was on full display. (and it wasn't immediately apparent because it was mostly in black and white.)
Trust me, I do A LOT of editing before stuff goes up on my thread!

I assumed so. I love your thread, it's a great way to find good fantasy art fast. I know it's an annoying amount of work just to upload that many images.
There's a tool for the moderators that gives an option to see the number of page views. I use it from time to time to see how much activity is going on this forum.
And it's interesting that through the last 2 months (March 20, 2015 - May 19, 2015) the average number of page views per day is 50k - 60k.
But for some odd reason on May 14, 2015, the forum had 199 620 page views and on May 15 this figure went even higher to 205 560 page views.
After that, the activity went back to its average numbers.
I wonder what is reason behind that. The forum URL change happened on May 12, 2015, so it's not directly involved.
Ooh! That makes me think of something. @tresset you'll like this. There's a Cooper's hawk nest somewhere in the neighborhood, and they have two juveniles who are still getting the ins and outs of flying, and they're very vocal. Apparently they can't fly well enough to pick up squirrels.
@kaguana It was late at night and I didn't think pictures would turn out from in the house. They ran off when I went outside. So I don't have pictures.

EDIT: Thanks, @meagloth !

Here are two that might interest you: http://dnd-videogaming.deviantart.com/ and http://bg-club.deviantart.com/
What most (quality) groups do, is basically playing curator for certain topics and fandoms and there are groups for pretty much *anything*.
I have no idea where the llama badges came from, but I give them out as a "thank you" for when people ad me to their watch.

It is Adventure Y. I'm doing QA.
