There is a glitch in the original BG2 that allows a player to try to travel the opposite way to get to Spellhold. If you travel south of Trademeet in the month of Tarsakh you can gain access to some of the elven areas that are supposed to be unlocked in chapter 6. You can then work your way back through the underdark and through the portal - resulting in you appearing in Spellhold.

The opposite way? You mean that's not the usual way?

If you have both PS:T EE and BG2:EE installed on the same unit, there is a secret portal in Sigil that allows you to travel to Spellhold. The key to open the portal is a squirrel tail and a Ring of Luck +1 which you can find in a hidden container in the Outlands.

To go back you have to traverse the Spellhold dungeon and then defeat Irenicus - you can then use his portal into the Underdark to return to Sigil.

Nah the usual way involves you siding with the pirate captain Raurivyl Ornshield to allow him to take control of Brynnlaw.

Going through the forest mostly just avoids a lot of pirate talk :)

Did you know that within Sarevok's dialogue file there is evidence that the creators of BG1 intended that Sarevok turn into the slayer just before his defeat. Instead of going with this option the writers decided to insert a mention of the slayer in Sarevok's dialogue, while leaving the concept of an opponent turning into the slayer to be later explored in SoA.

Did you actually know that the Slayer's spikes aren't actually spikes?

There's a reason Bhaal has so many children.

Degula was supposed to be in the Planar Sphere instead of the cannibal halflings, but the writers figured that would be too obscure of a reference.

Everyone in Siege of Dragonspear is transgender. Even characters from BG1 and BG2, like Imoen and Irenicus.

If Mizhena is force-joined (Ctrl-Q) and equipped with the Girdle of Masculinity/Femininity, then released from the party and charmed, he'll finally tell you his real name ...
...which is "Toster" (although I can't imagine why )

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the Brave Little Toaster.

I mean, the plot of Siege of Dragonspear is basically just the Brave Little Toaster with fireballs and drag queens.

dang it @Gallowglass, now I want to learn serious scripting to make those real.

@dustbubsy - this makes Berrun Ghastkill sound like Wilfred the Red!

Neverwinter sometimes has wintertime when no one is looking.

... and does Waterdeep sometimes run shallow?

If you play on June 16, you get a stamina bonus so you don't have to rest even if you walk all day and until midnight. This is especially true if your main character is called "Leopold" or "Stephen".

There is super-secret demon boss in Throne of Bhaal. To fight him, you need to have true imprisonment scroll from Helm Wraith (she gives it to you after you lure Vigil Knights to Demogorgon's Lair) and soulstone (or whatever it's called) of Marlowe's daughter (you'll lose it in process). Then you need to go lich cave in Amkethran. Casting scroll there will summon powerful fiend.

If you search hard enough, you can find Sarevok's true secret diary in the Iron Throne headquarters. It's mostly composed of never-sent love letters and erotic fan fiction.

Demogorgon's imprisonment in Watcher's Keep is actually a metaphor for how we lock up our feelings when our hearts get broken.

The reason all the Nashkel miners are half-naked elderly bearded geezers is because Bioware knew the average gamer wouldn't enjoy going through an area full of the alternative: half-clothed nubile shaven girls.

Yoshimo's betrayal at Spellhold is a metaphor for Pearl Harbor.

In Beregost if you talk to the bartender Feldpost Inn you can gain access to a series of caverns that run underneath the town. To do so however you'll need to have the spider body from Landrin's quest in your possession.

The caverns were initially formed by erosion caused running water, however most recently they have become inhabited by a pack of spiders. Fearing the impact of an unchecked spider population on his own cellars the bartender asks your assistance to investigate it.
