If you present the equalizer, a diamond, and a scroll of protection from undead to Cespenar he will offer to create a new item. Not only will the Equalizer +5 do more damage to those who stray from neutral, but it will also do extra damage against "unnatural" enemies.
Sigh, now I wish that was real.
As a certain Star Trek character would say... "Make it so!"
Here you go!

@ThacoBell copy the code on a plain text file, name it equalizer.tp2, get WeiDU.exe (http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,29577.0.html) and rename it setup-equalizer.exe, then drop both files (the .exe and the .tp2) on your game's directory (the one with the chitin.key and override folder), run the .exe and done.
There is another hidden joinable NPC in BG2EE. It's a squirrel you can find in the Windspear Hills area. He's a bit tough to find, but once you do if you bring him the Dryad acorns he'll agree to join your group.

Or you can kill it to get a Ring of the Princes +1

I thought it was a Ring of Luck, or was that just BG1?

Is he the one that was really a polymorphed biped?

I thought the new rules wouldn't be announced so soon... Good...
Its reported that gnomes designed the sewers of Baldur's Gate.
Coincidentally this explains why its exits and entrances are so confusing. After being poorly paid for their work the gnomes cast powerful illusionary magic throughout the sewers - resulting in most those few folk who use them to find their navigation to be confusing.
Players however should not despair, for there is a little known gnome merchant on the second floor of the Elfsong Tavern who will sell you something to negate these illusions - for a fair price of course.
No pictures exist yet, but it is being set up as we speak in the land of Balnibarbi (out somewhere near Japan). They thought it would be a great project, and work is progressing Swiftly.
With a strength score of 26 you can actually remove those damned cursed items by right click them, choose "Remove by force", that's why it's capped at 25.
The Arkenstone of Thrain is a big diamond that glows with a pale imitation of a pale imitation of a pale imitation of a pale imitation of the light of The Two Trees... maybe.

But some folks around here are apparently wizards. With +50 to casting time.
*edit* this like confuses me
Did you *actually* know , at this point its very hard to find an Inn
Yeah, but a lot of writers fail to capture that, same with paladins :V
PS: Wait, I thought this was a different thread ... god dammit.
