Everyone knows that according to in game documents, Tranzig supposedly has bags of holding to transport the iron. Well, in Cloakwood, if you charm Daevorn and have HIM talk to his apprentice, the apprentice mentioned that Tranzig had previously reported that the bags were stolen. If you can charm BOTH Marek and Lothander, they say that they are also hunting for a halfling with pink hair to recover the bags. Unfortunately, Alora cannot be confronted about this, as the questline was unfinished.
Sarevok was innocent all along. All those documents you collected showing Sarevok's guilt were forged by Belt. It was all part of Belt's grand scheme to take over the Iron Throne.
If you attack Belt at the Ducal Palace, you can expose his treachery once and for all.
If you choose the "evil" option for Anomen by encouraging him to seek revenge, but raise his Charisma to 20 or better before facing off Saerk Farrahd, Anomen elopes with Saerk's daughter. Later, in the Government District, you can see Saerk and Cor Delryn fighting each other.
If you choose this option, Anomen won't be available in Throne of Bhaal.
Wizard Slayers are actually Squibs. If you name your Wizard Slayer Argus Filch, you can summon a cat familiar named Mrs. Norris, and if you get Mrs. Norris petrified by a basilisk, it opens up a unique side quest.
The quest is heavily dialogue-based, but most of the dialogue is just 250 pages of a poltergeist blowing raspberries.
Did you know that is another solution to ending the iron crisis and Sarevoks plans in Bg1? Well there is, but it you have to plan ahead and be swift and lucky in your execution:
When you return to CK, Koveras/Sarevok approaches you. Considered a plot critical character he is bestowed 100% MR and a -5 save vs spell.
But if you - before he talks to you - hit him with 1) the druid spell magic resistance, 2) greater malison, 3) doom, 4) chant 5) domination If the domination spell isnt saved and bypasses MR, Koveras is dominated.
If you have the gender belt, bracers of binding and the helmet of op. alignment in your back pack and charname is a male Jester, charname can give the items to Sarevok.
Giving Sarevok the items turns him into the mild tempered valley girl Sara Vokk. Sara and charname will then be able to revert all of Sarevoks undoing - ending it all peacefully in a dance off at the temple of bhall.

This should be a real thing lol.
As I said before, this thread is full of interesting mod ideas
Sarevok's followers have their own base in the original BG1's game files. The design of it is what the safehouse at the start of SoD was based around.
Apparently, its only accessible from another secret door leading from Undercellar. There aren't any quests associated with it, but it does have multiple levels and quite a bit of treasure.
Farmer Brun is not the owner of the farm where you meet him. Both the house and the farm belong to Enter Silvershield who hired Brun as a garden gnome.
Contrary to false rumors, Arkanis Gath is not wearing Imoen's belt. The reason he is unkillable is because he is actually The Nameless One. If you land a critical hit on him, you can hear him mutter "Agh - worse than last time!"
Viconia is not a Drow elf, she is just a very suntanned wood elf. She invented her story about being Drow to gain attention. She did gain unwanted attention on at least two occasions, which would have proven fatal if Charname & Co hadn't happened to blunder by at exactly the right time.
The Ice Island dungeon is modeled on Kirrin Island from Enid Blyton's old "Five" stories.
Remember Cambion from Irenicus' Dungeon? You can avoid killing him. If your entire party is evil, Cambion doesn't attack you and simply teleports to his home plane, when you release him from his sphere. That means that you have to remove from your party every non-evil member (that includes Imoen) before talking to him. If you do that, you'll have pleasant surprise later in the game:
Did you actually know that in 2015 The New York Times published and extended and ambitious interviews asking celebrities about their party composition in Baldur’s Gate? For example:
- Pope Francis created a Priest of Illmater (the closest to the Franciscans Order), a halfling named Messi. He chose companions like Branwen, Anomen, Aerie, Ajantis and Keldorn (for this two he changed their colors to yellow, red and blue, like the Swiss Guard). He took Viconia when he saw her being about to be sacrificed by a mob, despite being he adviced that she had done bad things in the past; his answer was: “she reminds me of Maradona”.
- Kim Kardashian: She made a Barbarian black dude with Str 18/00 and Con 18. Didn’t care much for mental stats. She also took Minsc, Dorn, Ajantis... and Safana. She liked Safana. In ToB she was a big fan of Sarevok. She never sold gems and she showed interest for the Thief Stronghold.
Talking about celebrities, it is not well known that several 90s celebrities worked as voice actors:
- Drizzt - Will Smith
- Gorion - Leonard Cohen
-Sarevok - Donald Trump
-There was also an Al Pacino recording of a voice set for Charname based in his character from Scarface, all high on cocaine and all, but didn’t make the cut.
-Did you actually know if you name your Charname Lion King, Scar will attack you at sight.
-Did you actually know there is a cigarette in Baldur’s Gate, but you can only light it with a Wand of Fire Ball.
-Did you actually know I was in Edmonton last weekend and I saw Trent Oster in a bar, and I got him drunk and told me they are working in a new NPC called McLovin, a very freaky and very horny wizard based in the character of the same name from “Superbad”, voice acted by the original actor, Christopher Mintz-Plasse
-Did you actually know that Abdul guy was never meant to be the canon son of Bhaal but a copy of Dawson from Dawson’s creek?
I have finally located the Source code for IWD2. It was kind of hidden in plain sight...
The original written source code was recorded as spoken words in rhyme. This recording was the foundation for the record: “once upon a time in Shaolin” where music was recorded on to the source code. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Time_in_Shaolin
Its just a matter of retrieving the record and transcribe the lyrics. Easy peasy
The Great Gazib is really more of a brand than any one person. The character you meet in BG1 for instance is actually the apprentice. Over the years each "Gazib" teaches their apprentice their craft until eventually they die off - leaving the apprentice to take over. Alas, this effort ended when both apprentice and master were driven mad by the spellplague. Since then many adventurers have sought out any written works produced by these figures, with little (if any) luck.
After a year of data collection and analysis, my ideas on the random generation of hit points for a PC has been confirmed. I long suspected that there was a connection on the number of arrows that hit you during the cut-scene with the bandits, Gorion, and Saervok. Three arrows are fired and have a possibility to hit you. A larger number of HP's are rolled if hit by both two arrows fired at your front, and then the third from behind as you are leaving. So, make sure to remove all armor and equip a missile weapon as well (that increases your chances of getting hit by all three). Other combo's are possible, but one in particular is pretty bad, all misses equates to low end rolls all the way through, so fighters in particular, make sure you strip off the armor before leaving CK. There is an easter egg bonus here as well, although it does not show up on the character info sheet. Get hit once only, an arrow in the backside while running away, although it does not result in higher HP's, does result in a permanent +1 Luck bonus (the million gold piece wound). In order to get this bonus, Gorion's mirror image must be dispelled by the enemy before that shot hits.
Originally, there was going to be an EE expansion for Baldur's Gate 2, following up on plot threads from Siege of Dragonspear, called Siege of Dragonspear: Of Family and Fiends. It would have been set between Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal, and delt with the aftermath of the forces of hell's defeat in Siege and subsequent defeat at Suldanessellar as part of Irenicus's invasion force. In it, a group of demons with a grudge agains CHARNAME would be lead by an unnamed Bhaalspawn in a bid for the Throne of Blood. Most of the code was complete and Beamdog even presented an Alpha version to Hasbro execs, but were told the project was cancelled, and were even threatened with legal action if they were to continue with the project.
For some reason, Hasbro didn't react well to SoD: oFF.
Baldur's Gate was named after the famous gate in the American city of Boulder Baldur, Colorado.
And you can only see it by riding a mountain bike down the flat irons at local midnight during a blue moon. Shooting the Shelf at the Dark Horse beforehand doesn't hurt.
The reason Minsc's racial enemy turns from gnolls in BG1 to vampires in BG2 is because the gnoll fortress from BG1 didn't actually have any gnolls in it. All those gnolls were really just vampire doppelgangers pretending to be gnolls.
Did you know that if you're playing BG when December, 24, becomes December, 25, Elminster spawns next to your party, dressed in a red suit with a white beard, called Santa Elminster, and asks you if you were naughty this year. If you have a high reaction score, he can give you his hat.
Santa Elminster hat: All rolls get +2 bonus.
And then you can romance and bed the liches
no silly Charname, only the REAL Elminster can do that, and apparently did. For a good long while. No, seriously!

If it looks weird, it's because it's flipped horizontally.
If you attack Belt at the Ducal Palace, you can expose his treachery once and for all.
Here's a sneak peek at what Beamdog is working on right now:
If you choose this option, Anomen won't be available in Throne of Bhaal.
