Jaheira merely kept narrow eyes on Aerie, wondering how they might toughen her up to survive a day on her own. Apparently, Jaheira had her other (non-elven) half to thank for her hardiness, for Aerie was a featherweight in more ways than one.
Okay, led by Jaheira, you make your way down into the tall grass, which closes in around you like walls on either side, the grass extending over your heads. After a little time, heading east, you come across a place where the grass abruptly parts.
Buzzing with insects and taller than Minsc (!), the grass surrounds you like a sea. Just when it seems that the grass will never end, you come unexpectedly to a tiny clearing around an old, collapsed open wagon. It only visible contents are a rusted, iron-bound chest and some limp sacks.
"You guys look out for an ambush and I'll go and see if there is anything in the chest."
Alora approaches the wagon. She will poke the sacks with her sword to make sure there is nothing nasty lurking in them. Then she will check the chest for traps and if she doesn't find any she will attempt to open it.
"Nonsense," Jaheira snorted. "Wagons are neither good nor evil, foolish zealot. Much of nature is this way, and you are here, in Her garden." Sometimes, it was silly. That cloud portends evil, this rock is a signet of good. Ridiculous superstition, created to mollify addled brains.
"Boy, stop calling me girl. Hitting things isn't the solution to every problem."
Alora will light her her torch and hold it under the lock to thaw it out. She will be very careful to make sure she doesn't set the grass alight and start a conflagration (she make lack wisdom but she isn't stupid!).
"I can't open this lock; it's all rusted up. Someone strong needs to hit it with a big axe or something. Minsc, Anomen, Arkamis - get your weapons out."
Crack! Aerie jumped as Jaheira's club met the chest. Looking to the sky, she half-feared that the sound might have drawn the attention of angry birds, just like in her nightmares.
Alora will tie a rope round the chest and then stand well back and pull it off the wagon so she can see what it contained but still be far enough away in case there is anything nasty lurking in there.

"This wagon has a sense of... evil about it."

Arkanis helps Alora in bashing the lock.
The chest pulls off, revealing a snake which hisses at the party. Its rattles hiss as its tail shakes.
No snake will attack the Little Lady! Go for the eyes Boo!
