OOC: I had to... hopefully boo will actually listen to reason and stay away, if not...
*Anomen takes a step back a way from the snake and makes sure he is not in it's strike range. He will also stay away from Minsc fearing the worst for the rodent he tossed at the snake and not wanting to be in the way when he goes berzerk.*
OOC: Also, I was kinda hoping Aerie would swoop in with bird-like swiftness and snatch the snake behind the head before hurling it into the tall grass and declaring, "Faster than Chiktikka Fastpaws!"

OOC: Aerie is still much too mopy for that, I'm afraid.
Oops! You're a magic cat right? Can you do something about this small predator? If not I imagine one of our friends can smash it with their big smashy weapons.
Oops joins Boo in his attack on the snake, and between the two of them, they manage to kill the snake, but Oops takes a bite that makes him turn to Neera. moaning in pain. Abruptly, the cat collapses, and through their mental bond, she can feel acidic pain coursing through Oops' tiny body as the snake's venom torments the small black kitty.
Under the remains of the snake, you find old, rotted clothing, a pile of silver coins (1400 sp) and a small bag that jingles musically when you move it.
"Foolish cat," Jaheira grumbled. Knowing that the ability to stop poison was beyond her meager powers, she tried to cure light wounds in the hope that the curing would outrun the poison's drain on the animal's life. "And even more foolish girl," she then barked at Neera. While she was fine with others being injured, she did not think much of needlessly risking the lives of animals.
The meek mew of the injured cat pulled Aerie from her mood, stirred the broken heart from its pits ever so slightly.
"I-Is she all right?" Aerie asked as she eyed Oops with worry. Her fingers splayed as she extended her arms toward the creature, ready for healing if necessary.
The kitten meows weakly and licks Neera's hand. Jaheira's spell perks the kitten right up, and Oops rubs his head on Jaheira's palm very gently, and licks it with his rough tongue, then meows proudly at Ajantis, then climbs up Neera's arm to her shoulder, where the kitten sits proudly, like a conqueror on his throne, a loud purr rumbling, so loud you can ALL hear it.
Alora finds four rings in the bag. Three are of silver (2 gp worth each), and the fourth is of gold, with ivory inserts. Alora can't tell how much that one is worth... yet.
OOC: There are between 8 and 18 (!) inches of snow forecast for between today and Sunday, so I may (almost certainly will) lose internet for that time. No need to worry otherwise, though.
OOC: Stay warm in the snowstorm @LadyRhian. I hope you don't lose your internet connection but if you do be sure that your merry band of players will be eagerly waiting your return.
Alora is very excited about the rings she has found. She proudly shows them to the others. And then surreptitiously slips the gold and ivory one onto her finger . . .
Jaheira frowned at the patronizing tone that was being taken with the cat. "Aside from the idiotic handling of your animal-ignorant ways, the cat will be fine." Until, of course, they got it permanently killed - something she intended to try and prevent. "She, along with the rodent, have more sense than the lot of you."
"That is no chicken, and it is vile," Jaheira scoffed, unnerved by the very thought. "Chickens are part of the natural order, while that... that..." It was an abomination, likely caused by some fool of a wizard's interference, nothing more."
Having failed in her mission to cheer Jaheira up, Alora decides to continue with the adventure. "Shall we carry on through the grass? Do you want me to go first? I'll go first."
OOC We got 18 inches and a bit more. Lost power 3 or so times. Lost internet for the duration.
It was so bad that yesterday, I couldn't even get out of my house. Blown, drifting snow blocked me in. However, power and internet are back today (both), as opposed to one or the other (or both), so this is cheering news.
Alora likes the ring. It fits her, and it's shiny. (SHINY!)
You head north to the edge of the band of grass and find yourself at the edge of a swamp. Further wending north and east(ish) finds you near a very solid path through the swamp. It is dank and watery (the swamp, that is). About a mile after entering the path, the area around you becomes slightly less boggy, but still sort of misty. You peer ahead, trying to make objects out through the mist.
A breath of wind cleats the mist for the moment, and reveals a half-dozen lizard-like creatures, squatting on their hind legs and hissing to each other in their coarse, inhuman tongue. When the mist lifts, they lift their snouts towards you.

OOC: Shiny!
Alora peers at the lizard-folk. A bit of bluff work might be called for. "I am Alora - the mighty sorcerer. You must give me free passage through these marshes and uh, half, no wait, all your gold. If you do not I will wake the cockatrice familiar that is perched on my head and he will turn you all to stone."
Alora feels pleased with herself. This is very clever plan .
"No," Jaheira barked, edging Alora out of the way with the back of her shield, which had the benefit of giving the Halfling some additional protection. "They will tear you to shreds without a second thought." Yes, she knew of these muck-dwellers, and there was no point in parleying with savages, caught in the emptiness between beast and man.
Alora is peeved that Jaheira is muscling her out of the way. "You are ruining my plan," she hisses. "You should look like you are in awe of me. I'm a mighty sorcerer!"
The first of them blows a compressed blast of water at Alora, drenching her to the skin and filling her eyes with mud (here's mud in yer eye!). She is blinded.
They fire at the rest of you as well. They hit Jaheira, Ajantis and Anomen, who are also blinded. The rest of you are soaked, but otherwise okay.

Ajantis kneels and cautiously pets poor Oops. "May the blessings of Helm the Guardian be upon you, little defender."
Neera throws down her staff and rushes towards the heroic kitten. She picks Oops up and hugs him.
"Please tell me you're ok. I didn't really mean to put you in danger!"
