The sensible thing to do would be to leave the corpse alone like I suggested, but since the party to this course of action, I will go along with it and pray to Torm he thinks these creatures are mot being treated unjustly.
Finally, Alora connects with one of the mushrooms. Suddenly, your ears are assaulted by the loudest sound, which seems to bounce off the walls of the cave. Then, it is joined by three others, and the sounds rebound again and again and again, adding to the pain you feel. Above you, the bats shift and begin to flap around, swarming through the cave, adding to the waves of sound beating through your skulls.
It's like being inside a bell while it is rung… very loudly.
Jaheira couldn't tell whan Anomen was trying to say, but it was probably something about how much better he was than anybody else. The noise was horrible, but it would have been far worse if they'd been closer. Club at the ready, she planned to cover the party's withdrawal.
"I hit it! Did you see that? I hit it!" shouts Alora over the ringing in her ears. Despite the noise she is a bit disappointed that no one is congratulating her.
Then she turns and sees the Orcs. "Orcs!" she shouts over her deafness.
Alora moves to get a clear eye line to attack the Orcs with her sling.
Seeing Alora's reaction, the paladin turns to notice the approaching enemies. Hoping he'll have enough time he rushes toward Neera's side, planning to defend her once she unleashes whatever magic she'll likely cast.
Aerie couldn't do much about the orcs with both hands clamped over her ears. She thought about casting Sleep on them...and feared it wouldn't work, because no sane creature could sleep through this gods-forsaken ringing. Helpless, she stood back and watched the fighters enter the brawl, and threw Neera a nervous glance, wondering what the half-elf's wild magic could be capable of.
Finally got caught up in a couple days. I have to say it was a great read! Can't wait to see how it goes and hopefully I can join at some point!
Cheers!
sorry to interrupt... that's all...
OOC: I must shamefully agree with you. Everyone is brilliant in playing their character and the banter is lively and enjoyable. Everyone needs to keep up the good work.

I'm really glad you are enjoying reading it. It is great fun to play. Put your name down for a slot when one becomes available. Considering our fighters are charging into combat without any armour there could be an opening very soon.
The party, with the exception of Aerie, charges the orcs (well, Anomen, not being above a good poke, pokes at the orcs with his spear. He hits, killing one of the orcs, Jaheira also has luck, smacking an orc down brutally with her club. Neera's spell, set off a wild surge. (Yes, Yes, I know, you have all been waiting for this one to happen!) When Neera speaks the words of the spell, rainbow bubbles come out of her mouth, drifting up into the air… A few of them pop, releasing some of the words of the spell into the air. The air grows heavy with magic about to happen, but nothing else. For now.
Everyone else misses. The orcs return fire (so to speak). One stabs Neera in the leg for 4 points damage. Arkanis takes 4, Jaheira 5. Another hits Alora for 4.
The party wins initiative, And I'm going to pause here to see what Neera wants to do.

OOC: The party should start taking bets on who will manage to hit shroom first!
OOC: Nice, spacious cave. Do you know what creatures live in nice spacious caves in the BG games?
Oh gosh! We're in trouble aren't we?

STUPID GIRL

Arkanis murmurs under his beard, than attacks the orcs with throwing axe.
"OH NO."
Neera says this as she releases the Nahal's Reckless Dweaomer'd Magic Missile. After this, as planned, she'll run behind the others.
Cheers!
