Neera will try to whack an orc in the head with her staff while yelling,"HELP, I'm going to need tenser's floating bandage soon!" and will attempt to run to safety (if that's even possible).
Jaheira shifts the grip on her club to smite another, even as she hopes that her parting with Khalid had need on better terms. She had been very cross. This was well and good, since he deserved it, but he also deserved a chance to make it up to her. And, she might just consider letting him potentially succeed. Maybe.
Okay, round 2. Alora sinks her short sword into an Orc, killing it. Anomen kills another orc. Arkanis misses. Jaheira misses. Minsc kills a third orc. Neera misses. Ajantis misses. a few more of Neera's bubble words pop.
Ajantis is walloped by an orc (rolled a 20!) for 10 points damage. The blow, quite literally, knocks him onto his knees. Jaheira takes another 3 points of damage from the second orc. The orcs win the initiative for round 3. The first orc spins and hits Anomen right in the middle of his unarmored chest. Anomen falls, bleeding badly (at -4!). The second orc hits Minsc for 6.
The last of the floating bubbles pop, releasing the final words of the spell. The orc is seared for 2hp of damage. Arkanis takes down the injured orc, killing it. Jaheira misses again, but once again, Minsc comes through, killing the final orc.
A lot of you are injured, most badly. Anomen is dying, but you are able to bandage his wounds and reduce him to a merely unconscious state. The bats are still agitated and the mushrooms are still making that godawful noise. Something else is sure to come and find out the source of the noise, possibly soon.
OOC: I was using my mace and shield but I will roll with the spear. I doubt the orc taking me down hit with 1 above my AC or I just barely hitting them.
*screams in agony but no one hears it over the bats and shrieking mushrooms* *slumps to the ground... bleeding... bleeding...* *thinks of his sisters laugh and how he may never hear it again* *holds on to that sound over all the other chaos*
Seeing gentle Ajantis badly hurt, Minsc feels the red mist filling his mind. As he strikes down the last orc the soothing words of Boo start to replace the mist, slowly calming him and avoiding a frenzy.
Ajantis struggles, as if to stand, but can't seem to find the strength. Instead he half falls, half crawls toward Anomen, and attempts to lay on hands to offer what healing aid he can to his fallen comrade.
He then tries to gain someone's attention shouting that they all need to get out of the cavern as soon as possible. He motions toward everyone and points toward the exit emphatically, but feeling increasingly faint he's not sure his words are loud enough or his gestures meaningful enough.
After a brief rest Ajantis will try to regain his feet and help his allies leave this place. If his wounds allow he will attempt to aid the others carry/drag Anomen out of here back to somewhere more defensible.
OOC: Okay, another section for Alora's Big Handbook Of Adventuring Oopsies - Don't Shoot The 'Shrooms.
Recognizing Ajantis's signals, Aerie moved to help the wounded paladin to his feet. She winced as she dropped the shield around her ears. Seeing Ajantis and Anomen in so much pain, she longed to use her healing scrolls, but with this gods-awful noise, could she even concentrate well enough to successfully cast the magic?
For now, they needed to move. Once they reached a place of safety, away from the mushrooms and commotion, she would heal whoever needed her.
"Everyone, we must leave!" Aerie tried to shout over the shrill noise. "Let's help each other to our feet, let's go!"
OOC: I have a regular Magic Missile left I believe. It's 2 spells a day at level 1, correct?
Neera is going to cuddle Oops for moral support and use her staff as a physical support since she's injured and such. She'll follow the rest of the party to safety.
I suggest that Alora should explore the cavern, and if she disturbs the shrieking mushrooms we run and get rid with them. But first we must make some proper ear-plug for everyone. Other plans?
"I am not sure we should continue trusting our lives to Beshaba's avatar," Ajantis grumbles as the others plot Alora's next misadventure. "Helm, give me strength."
The paladin's eyes widened at the comment. He turned to survey his wounded comrades, looked back at the halfling again, blinked several times, and finally sighed in resignation. He just couldn't do it. That smiling cherubic face, so full of enthusiasm and excitement, somehow quelled any angry retort he might offer. He didn't know how Anomen managed such consistent disapproval of the thieving halfling. Perhaps he was simply made of sterner stuff.
"For all our sakes I do hope you're right about that, Miss Alora."
OOC: Alora would like to go back to the bat cave but since we don't have a plan for dealing with the Shriekers yet she will instead head towards it but when she comes to the place where the tunnels branch off she will take the one going west instead of continuing north.
She will wait until she, and everyone else is healed before setting off.
Did the orcs we killed have any serviceable armour that our naked fighters could wear?

The stronger they are, the harder I hit!

"Yes! Good idea, Alora!" Aerie shouted, but something in the halfling's words made her blink. "What necklace!?"
Alora hurries off.
Minsc goes to the room.
Nothing has changed. Gravel lies in untidy piles in the center of the cavern.
Alora will wait until Anomen is asleep and then show Minsc and Boo the necklace she found last time we were here.
