anyway i wonder if we will visit the island Sagani is from as it's part of the deadfire region.
PoE1 spoilers:
Sure, until he (apparently) went mad and tried to conquer the world, and had to be destroyed with the Godhammer bomb.
Exactly why was a fairly major loose end, so I'm not surprised PoE2 is using this as it's primary plot hook.
I wouldn't be surprised if the god's motive turns out to be misguidedly benevolent, and something else turns out to be the Big Bad. Perhaps the setting has real gods, who aren't to happy about constructed ones?
As the god of rebirth it's not exactly surprising he found a way back, amyway.
Sagini's land is at the far southern end of Deadfire, and, if we are talking inverted maps, resembles Greenland I guess. I wounder if we will get a ship in this one, rather the than a (pointless) stronghold.
2,2 mln of dollars are a lot... I wonder if they will get so much money. I certainly hope so.
Yeah, I'm always puzzled why Polish is before Italian in almost every Kickstarter/Fig campaign. Not that I complain Don't worry they'll get to Italian. The game certainly deserves Italian localisation.
@FinneousPJ For me, it depends. I generally enjoy playing games in German, but that's only if they also have been dubbed in said localization. And if I feel that the German voices have lower quality than the English ones ( I am looking at you Skyrim! ), then I won't even bother to complete the playthrough. Another big part is that German mods are so much rarer to come by than English ones.
As PoE2 only localizes the texts, I will not play it in German. So again, seeing that Obsidian will keep their Trinket+Localization stretch goal tactic to the bitter end... I am not amused.
@Shandyr Do you prefer to play games in German or English? What about other guys, do you prefer your own language or English?
I think this question really deserves to be a poll. It would be an interesting discussion.
I particularly prefer to play games in English because
1) Better writing. Have you ever tried to translate a joke or a pun? Those never translate well. 2) Mods. Eventually I'll mod any game I play. Most mods are in English. 3) Voiceovers are usually of a higher quality in English.
How is AI scripting not part of the base game? This game's success is more from us all being desperate for another isometric rpg, even though the gameplay is not good (The artwork is amazing though I'll give them that)
I wonder how much money has gone into the game already, seeing as how they've been working on it for awhile. Overall though, with the company being in a much better financial state than they were..And having learned from the mistakes during the first game. I expect this game will be much better.
Even the stretch goals are more modest/better than a highly ambitious megadungeon, that kept getting larger and larger with each stretch goal>_>
All Eothas would have needed to do was destroy the Engwithan machines. The gods certainly knew where they were.
Maybe easier said than done? I guess he could have been marching his army into the Dyrwood for that very purpose.
I'm more inclined to think he was ensnared in some plot by Magran who is trying to bump off the other gods though.
So far as I can tell, Thanos didn't start using the machines until after Eothas was destroyed, presumably because he thought the number of gods had fallen too low.

I prefer English (though Russian translation for PoE 1 is surprisingly good). But good dialogs (and some of the dialogs in PoE are good indeed) are sometimes all about tone and non-translatable humor. Too much lost even in a good translation.

This is why PoE 2 should be released in the original Klingon...
It's just a book in the first game and I'm not even sure if they plan on making you fight any sea battles, but that's potentially interesting for me..When thinking about what kind of monsters you might meet in the sequel.
It's like the voyage to werewolf island or taking the boat away from Brynnlaw when the Sahuagin attack..Except with Deadfire you might actually get to see a lot more, well MAYBE.

That plan was in the works since Woedica was depowered by the other gods.

So did you guys actually understand the lore? I never even understood if there were any real gods or not. To me, the writing was so unclear about that, that in the end I stopped even bothering trying to understand. The whole "there weren't any gods so we created them" thing was interresting in a way, but the gods that were created, were they strong and powerful as actual gods or just placebos?

Thanks for the update! I do hope that the Italian language will be in the 2,2 mln stretch goal
Indeed. We are always the last ones!!!
