Kaled didn't want to leave his sword unguarded, so leaves the diplomatic mission to his comrades. He start for the inn, but then feels some guilt to leave the others and turns back. After hearing the detonation in the distance he start to run for the manor. He arrives and see the flaming house, the odd rain and the guards, but not his companions. "Well the negotiation didn't went well, or so i think." Looking at the unnatural clouds he try to find the likely source, Harvey in the near.
If he don't find the halfling he enters the building to find the others.
"This is not the time for semantics, .." Vaga replies patiently to the gnome "..rather it's the time for action. Let's head after the beast instead of wasting time standing about idle."
Vaga starts to move down the path to the right, in pursuit of whatever headed there.
Kaled does, in fact, find Harvey and Butter sitting under a tree near the burning manor, as well as Emeril, who appears to be talking to him. As Kaled approaches, he overhears the last part of their conversation. “You have an odd way of looking into things, Mr. Toetwiddler,” Emeril says. Harvey shakes his head and says “Sorry for leaving so suddenly. I just had to find out what was going on.”
“And what did you find out,” Emeril asks him. Harvey leans forward and answers “The king is acting weird. Marching around, trying to bully people. Most of the orcs are more confused than anything. The ones marching against you now are younger orcs who are too hotheaded to think twice about it. Of course, they’re also too hotheaded to wait like the king instructed.”
“I see,” Emeril says with a nod. She finally notices Kaled and asks “What happened at the manor? I asked you to get Sir Stralchus on our side, not set fire to the place.” She says this calmly, though Harvey instinctively shifts away from her.
The stealing of a soul, footprints yet no thoughts. Evil all around us. Demons...
I believe we have walked into a demonic cult. The footprint could be that of a demon. Sir Stalchus's soul, an honourable knight and trusted mayor, loved by the local populace could lure a powerful demon to this world... We need that dagger back quick...
"Hello" says Kaled and he nods for Harvey and Butter too."Actually I know as much about these happenings as you, probably even less. The guards asked us to enter without weapons, so i decided to wait outside. I assume the others entered and something went awfully wrong with this diplomatic encounter. I try to find my comrades inside, there must be a reason they are not here outside. But let me check something." Kaled casts detect evil.
“I think it is best that we either get some light or wait for our eyes to adjust,” whispers Guston. “How am I to notice any traps and how is Fiora to defend us without the ability to see? I’m grateful for the naked dwarf holding my hand, but this doesn’t seem like it will end well.”
“I think it is best that we either get some light or wait for our eyes to adjust,” whispers Guston. “How am I to notice any traps and how is Fiora to defend us without the ability to see? I’m grateful for the naked dwarf holding my hand, but this doesn’t seem like it will end well.”
Guston says this as Vaga pulls him forward, and Fiora with him. It doesn’t take much longer by for their eyes to adjust to the dim light, and they can both see the same narrow passages that the others see. As they continue forward, the party hears a deep, posh-sounding voice echo through the halls. “Well now,” says the disembodied voice. “I believe we have some visitors, Julius.”
“Indeed,” says another, lighter toned, yet equally posh voice. “They don’t look like the lady’s pets, though, do they, Alexander?” “No, they do not,” The first voice replies. “Not in the slightest.”
"Hmmm... Nothing obvious. Would you two-" Kaled looks at Butter "-or three like to join with me inside? Some help may come handy, we use to get into messy situations lately..." With this Kaled heads to the manor entrance.
As Kaled’s group reaches the manor, Emeril attracts the attention of the guards and asks “What happened?”
“There was a large explosion in the master’s bedroom,” the guard says. “Some of the guards say a flying kid did it. They say he must have been an assassin sent to kill Sir Stralchus!” Emeril glances over at Kaled, then says “What of the party of adventurers we sent to you for help? Where are they?” The guard points to the manor and says “They went inside, presumably to find Lady Veronica. I pray she is alright.”
“What of Sir Stralchus?” Emeril asks. The guard points behind him, to where a group of guards is carrying the mayor’s body to the inn. “We were just about to head back inside to search for our lady.” “Perhaps we can take care of that for you,” Emeril quickly says. “Consider it a favor. We’ll also keep an eye out for that flying kid. If we see him, we’ll bring him to justice.” The guard nods slowly after considering her offer. “Alright,” he says. “If you find him, bring him to us. We’d love to gut him ourselves.”
As Kaled’s group enters the manor, Emeril turns to Kaled and says “It seems your friend is going to have to lay low for a while, at least until things are sorted out.”
"Yes, Ignatius is either a fool, or from an other kind of place, where casting hostile spells on others is a gentle compliment. He stirs up more trouble than the remaining of our group, including myself, which is a great accomplishment." Kaled looks around and try to catch any noise or some other sign of the others, or their whereabouts. "I sensed no evil presence near, which speaks not much in itself. Do you know anything about the layout of this building Emeril?"
“I haven’t been inside of it, so I don’t know,” Emeril says. Harvey, on the other hand, rides up on Butter and says “I can sense a large space underground that is connected to the building. It feels like a labyrinth of sorts. Beyond it is another large room, but it’s more open. That’s really the only place that leads anywhere.”
*Anduin sidesteps in front of Vaga who is still holding onto Fiora and Guston and beams his most reassuring and trusting smile before thrusting out his hand in readiness for a winning handshake*
Hellooo! What a lovely wine cellar you have here. Alexandar is it? Then you must be Julius? Yes? Lady Veronica mentioned you, lovely characters with plenty of body she said, haha, wasn't sure if she was talking about you or the wine. Well... And this is the funny thing, haha, we got lost, lost Lady Veronica, lost the wine, lost the wine glasses, haha, Vaga here even lost his clothes. Totally symbolic of a top night out on the tiles, eh, Vaga, eh!
*Anduin playfully jostles Vaga with an elbow. Vaga looks at Anduin and simply stares at him thinking if he should hit him or not, a crease begins to form on his brow. Anduin quickly jumps back.*
Ah! Yes. We are underground, haha, less night on the tiles, more dancing in the dungeons, haha, anyway could you point us towards Lady Veronica or the wine?
The first voice laughs and says “Oh, I think not. You see, the lady is very busy, and she is not seeing visitors. Nor is she expecting them. I’m afraid that makes you strangers, which naturally makes you prey. I do hope you can provide us with some sport at least. That would be... lovely, wouldn’t it Julius?”
“Oh yes,” the second voice echoes. “Quite lovely, Alexander. I certainly hope this latest group entertains us far more than the last.” “That would be nice,” The first voice speaks again.
The party cannot see anything but the walls around them. The chosen path leads forward, but they see nothing there.
"Let's worry about them floating voices when they materialize, 'til then I suggest we press on." Vaga's as resolute as ever and tries to drag Guston and Fi with him, his dwarven eyes lighting up the path easily for him.
Another useful cantrip time. Vaga! CLOSE YOUR EYES!

"Ok, let's search for a way down then. I suggest a stair or a trapdoor, but maybe you have better options?" looks Kaled questioningly at Harvey.
“Best to conserve magic energy when there is an alternative path to take,” Harvey says as he leads the others towards the stairs. “Now who wants to go first?”
Vaga can now easily pull the two dazzled party members along with him, as they offer no restistance. Eventually the path splits again, one left and one right.
“Best to conserve magic energy when there is an alternative path to take,” Harvey says as he leads the others towards the stairs. “Now who wants to go first?”
"It seems that you have the best sense of our surroundings, but i gladly take the lead, if i get some source of light."
Harvey thinks for a moment, then holds out a stick and snaps his fingers. The stick lights up, and he hands it to Kaled. “Onward then,” he says, gesturing down the stairs.

Ooh! Thank you. Uhm... another junction. If we go left again we could end up going in circles... or not. Let's draw a map..

Vaga: Reflex save: 7+5=12
Guston: Reflex save: 5+3=8
Ignatius: Reflex save: 19
Vaga and Ignatius hear Anduin’s shout and manage to close their eyes in time.
Guston: Fortitude save: 5-1=4
Both Fiora and Guston do not, however, and their eyes get blasted with light. Now they stand still, eyes wide open as they are dazzled by the light.
