Don't count your chickens yet. Rumor has it there might be a stash of Trump votes up in Antrim County!

Who called MI? AP still has it as leading.

And what’s hilarious about those people attempting to stop the count... if the count is stopped, Trump loses. It just shows intelligence level.

So step one is nearly over. Time to bring on the recounts. This is where I am scared legal shenanigans are going to happen to tilt the election, but it’s a long shot it happens.

They would not stop after stopping the count. They surely would want to stop the count and then get the Supreme Court to toss enough ballots until they can win by claiming conspiracies and "what had happened was!" type of things.

The fact that they sent Rudy to lead the charge in Pennsylvania indicates to me this is just theater of the absurd and nothing more. If they were serious about stopping this, they'd send someone who knows what the fuck they are doing. It's a show for FOX and OANN.

Qanon is not going away if Trump loses. Mark my words. I'm tired of my spidey-sense. Why can't I just live in blissfull ignorance like 95% of Americans???

It's possible that the AP will have called enough states for Biden to be president by 9 tonight when Nevada and Georgia send in updates.

Two things are fairly clear to me, one night on:

A - Democrats almost certainly wont have the Senate. The next 4 years are going to be slow and painful but at least a little normal.

B - Trumpism will not go away from the GOP. They are the party of Trump, and will stay that way until they find someone else to lead them to the promised land. I only hope that journey doesnt cost us 250,000 dead Americans like the current one has.

100% agree. In 2024 it'll either be Trump himself, or it'll be Trump playing kingmaker for Nikki Haley or Tom Cotton.

I doubt I could fill in the circle for anybody who's last name is 'Cotton' so I guess I have to root for Haley (who I don't know anything about) or hope to God a real conservative with some sense of ethics emerges. Conservatism isn't really stop all progress in my opinion, it's just slow it down enough to avoid total chaos. Maybe that isn't 'real' conservatism and I'm kidding myself...

I'm not even watching election coverage. I'm patrolling this forum and listening to druggie music. Why is it that 60's LSD music and 90's heroin music speaks to my soul more than any other type? Sorry, I avoided election coverage last night but I've consumed too many beers tonight hoping the madness might be over today. Stupid me...

GA is trending HARD toward Biden right now, so obviously the Trump campaign has.....sued to stop the vote count. This is farcical at this point. PA isn't going to be particularly close. Trump has lost. It's over.

MI and PA are going to be well outside recount territory. He can ask for one in WI if he wants, but even Scott Walker (who has been through one in that state) says it might net them a couple 100 votes out of the 20,000 they'd need. The Supreme Court would have to make such an insane ruling that it would cause mass civil disobedience. They won't do it.

I'm feeling more optimistic about the peaceful transition of power. I think we might come out of this with no political violence.

Still, Trump is sowing the seeds of doubt in our democracy, telling people that the election is being stolen. A lot of folks will believe him for years into the future, and right-wing media and the rumor mill in conservative circles will repeat the lie and make it an article of faith.

It doesn't really matter if the GOP can't scrounge up evidence of wrongdoing. If there's one thing the last few years of conspiracy theories have taught us, it's that people will believe ANYTHING that tells them their enemies are the bad guys, and vague stories that don't even specify what actually happened are no less convincing. If a story is half-written, that just means people can mentally fill in the blanks.

People will believe the election was stolen even if they themselves can't tell you the who, what, when, where, or how. When you don't need evidence to believe a story, you won't bother asking for the details, either.

And when the GOP tries to suppress voting rights in future elections, they'll use those stories to justify it.

Trump's not going to be in office after January. But that doesn't mean American conservatives will abandon Trumpism.

    Trump lawsuits in a nutshell:

    "Stop counting ballots now!!"

"Okay, we stopped. Biden is the winner."

"Wait, that's fraud! Why did you stop counting?"

There was one dipshit who wore his MAGA hat to the polls at my precinct. Guess what? Nothing happened. Nobody even reacted to him. That's what you give these assholes. A shrug and a roll of the eyes...

The people I see with MAGA hats around my town look like they are one missed rent payment away from homelessness. Scruffy, unbathed, awful looking people with scowls on their faces. Your mileage may vary of course, in other places I've seen more reasonable looking people.

At any rate, as a rational human being, I am still shocked that despite the lies and everything else he got so many votes. My opinion is that America is perhaps beyond saving if a guy with a long history of fraud, lies, and sexual assaults (grab em by the "pooty") can win so much support then I just don't America. I just don't, we suck. Irredeemable.

Far too many people must be absorbing the coordinated echo chambers that are our highly funded right wing media propaganda. People have internalized this worldview so much that it has become their reality and they won't let it go. They lash out at others when they don't get their way. Tens of millions live in this comfortable hateful conspiracy laden haze funded by the elites.

There but by the grace of God go I. I don't buy most of the religious right bullshit but this I believe. Live your life in 'that guy's' shoes and you'll understand. I've had the unique opportunity to be exposed to both sides in this equation and guess what? Neither 'side' is completely wrong...

Its not, and you are. Look at labor unions, slavery, wages, civil rights, etc. Every single time someone fought for some measure of equality or change, it was eventually met with violence from people trying to stop it. Things only ever change in this country when the people trying to sustain the status quo start fearing for their lives. Its why worker riots were so violent. Its why the 60s race riots were so violent. Its with women's suffrage was so violent. Its why coal miner riots were so violent. Its why a police precinct was set on fire this year. Conservatism has always violently blocked people from being treated as people in this country.

Hi everyone, I'm writing this at 10:43 EST. My question to you all is why there is so much confidence in Biden winning? I'm hearing it from friends and now seeing it here in a couple of posts. How do you project this? Looking at CNN, I'm seeing that he will win if he gets Arizona and Nevada. Arizona is looking good, but Nevada is really close, so theoretically he could lose that? Georgia is really close (this I didn't expect) but he hasn't won it yet, and I'm hearing optimism about Pennsylvania, too. But seeing all the close races and that he's behind in Pennsylvania, I'd expect more nail biting than optimism. Am I missing something? Context: I'm Canadian and not an expert on the American system.

Without Michigan and Wisconsin Trump's toast. Michigan is not going to change regardless of Trump's hysterics. If he manages to switch Wisconsin he'll still need Arizona and Nevada or Pennsylvania to offset it. Likely not going to happen without judicial shenanigans...

If Georgia turns it makes even Michigan irrelevant. Both have 16 electoral votes. Then Trump needs to turn a blue state red. Minnesota and Nevada would work but Minnesota has already been called for Biden.

Biden isn't, and never was, my "chosen one". I'm not even a member of the Democratic party. I support them now, because the country is basically toast if things continue the way they are. I doubt Biden was ANYONE'S chosen one for that matter. But the current form of the Republican party needs to be completely burned down. They are nothing but a danger to everyone but corporations.
