"In Baevarn's name!" Aerie gave a mighty yell as she swung her staff down--and smashed the snake into dozens of tiny pieces. She almost felt sorry for the little beasty. Almost.
Minsc and Alora finish off the remaining snakes. Now that they are gone, you can see one exit from this place, beyond the one you came in by- a tunnel across the room, but from the south from where you came in. It does seem to be lit by the light coming from the glowing quartz crystals.
"We've killed the snakes now let's get the treasure!" says Alora cheerfully. However, she is going to be careful in case there is anything else nasty waiting for her. She will attempt to move silently and will stay close to the walls as she approaches the new tunnel. She will hide close to the wall and use her mirror to look down the tunnel to see if there is anything there.
The corridor makes a hairpin bend and heads east. At this point, the rock reverts from the glowing quartz to a dark gray bedrock. You hear some flapping noises, but nothing else.
Alora will wait for the party to catch up with her and when they have she will creep forward attempting to move silently and hide in the shadows until she can discover what is making the flapping noise.
Ahead, there are two small... bird-like? things with bat wings. This room is illuminated by sunlight from the outdoors. After a moment, Alora recgognizes the "bird-like" things as Stirges.
