Tries hard to type through her tears of laughter...
Oops has killed the last Stirge! The cat lands on it, knocks it out of the air and rends it with front and back claws, tearing the little monster apart. Then, it chases one of the feathery bits of the Stirge, rolling after it like a kitten.
Now that the Stirges are dead... This room is filled with sunlight from an opening in the eastern wall. The air is filled with the sound of falling water, and bright sunlight. The opening looks out onto the back of a waterfall, filling the air near the opening with mist and water droplets.
The room is about 70' long and mostly 40's wide, but widens out towards the east, until it is more than 50' wide at the widest point. There is a hole in the floor at the widest point. However, going down the 30' passage to the opening in the east shows that this isn't a great exit for you. It's a straight drop of 300' to the bottom of the waterfall (That's roughly twice the size of Niagara Falls or 55' less than Victoria Falls). You doubt you'd survive such a drop (to put it mildly!)
As for the opening in the floor, you can see that it leads 15' down to a floor covered in bones. You see something moving in and out of the bones, but unless you get closer, you can't see what it is.
Alora will creep over to the opening, trying to move silently so as not to draw attention to herself, and will try to see what is moving in and out of the bones.
OOC: Is the piercer helpless now that it is on the ground? If it is Alora will just avoid it. If not she will attack it.
Alora checks the roof of the cavern to try to avoid walking under any more piercers and if that is possible she will creep to the edge of the opening to see what is crawling amid the bones.
Alora is sincerely hoping that it turns out to be a mouse.
Pretty much. They are helpless if they can't pierce you.
After spotting no more piercers, you make your way to the edge of the hole and looked down, scanning the bones. After a moment, you see another movement. A snake. A foot-long, iridescents snake.
OOC: it was unique exploding orcs that infected Alora and I (and i think Jan) with a disease that would have turned us into gas balloons. A priestess of Sylvanus cured us with us taking on the debt of finding a pool that magically heals wounds and bring her back a vial. We have the vial and are headed back now (sort of) but giant birds picked us up and dropped us in this valley. We are wandering alone hopelessly lost and why Anomen is demanding we find our way back to civilization so we can finish the duty that we started.
OOC: Yes, Gas Orcs were Gas Spores in the shape of Orcs. If you get exploded on, you get seeded on to make more of them. All that was needed was Cure Disease, which Alora and the others got. (Ajantis wasn't in the party at the time.)
All right, Ajantis is lowered into the room on your ropes.
Below you is the floor of the other cave, littered with bones. It's hard to tell, but you think many of them are sheep bones, but they are of all shapes and sizes. There do appear to be more snakes than just the one, but you think that if you move carefully enough, you might be able to get through without having to step on, fight, or get too close to any of the snakes.
The snakes don't appear to the especially aggressive, as as long as they are allowed to go about their snake lives in peace, you should be fine.
The cavern itself is low and sort of parallelogram shaped, with additional space to the north and about 20' by 60' at its largest point. On the north wall, to the eastern side of the room, is a ladder leading up. It appears there used to be some sort of opening to the east, but it was blocked off by stones- too large and too many for you to shift, to the north.
Now that Ajantis is closer to the bones, he can see that they include horse, deer, rabbit, cow, and, disturbingly, bones that look human, elven and even that of a dwarf. While there are plenty of snakes, there are also plenty of places to step if you wish to avoid them.
If there is room Alora will have herself lowered down to join Anjantis so she can help to look for secret doors and traps (and purely incidentally, treasure).
Unless your idea of treasure is bones, Alora comes up empty. The "ladder" such as it is, is hand and footholds cut into the stone. At the top of it is 10' of a corridor, which ends a door leading north.

OOC are we using skill checks?

The room here is about 10' high.
