Just want to make is super clear that the v22 version of BG1NPC project from gibberlings.net had dialog bugs for me, but it looks like this one https://github.com/AstroBryGuy/bg1ub/releases v22.3, has them fixed.
@Thels All added. Concerning your suggestion in another thread to add a small tutorial on how to install mods I really think such a tutorial should be a thread of its own. Let this one be a simple list for those looking for compatible mods.
Yeah, I was thinking it's probably better served as it's own thread, and then links pointing there from threads like these about "How do I install these mods?" would be the best way to go.
Also, you don't need to include "Banter mod" and "Item mod" in their texts. :P Those were merely indicators what section they were supposed to go.
Yes, Both Steam and GoG BGEE+SOD installations require modmerge to run. There's a small difference in the location of the zip file (Steam places it in a subfolder, GoG places it in the root), but the modmerge application has been updated to handle either location.

Have downloaded modmerge. I eventually worked out how to read the read-me file. For those who don't know, md files can be opened with a text editor but you have to tell the computer to do so or rename it as a txt file.
What is wrong with a straightforward text file or a word doc?
Modmerge has clearly been written with computer geeks in mind. I am not one and most users won't be!
The read-me does not say how to install the program which has no exe or bat file with it.
There should be a single .exe file. Place that .exe file in your BGEE directory (the same directory that contains your chitin.key and baldur.exe files), and run it.
I actually checked, and there is no .md file included in the zip. Are you sure you grabbed the right files?
On the download page, grab "modmerge-win32.zip" (assuming you're using Windows. If not, grab the linux or osx file). You may see multiple copies of the same file. Grab the top one (with the highest version number).
When the zip file is downloaded to your PC, simply open it in windows explorer (or your favorite .zip application), then drag the modmerge.exe over to your Baldur's Gate folder (the one with baldur.exe and chitin.key, the same directory where all your mods go to), and run it.
I don't know if this but I installed steam to a different place(I heard its bad to be in program files 86) and the sod.disabled file was in the dlc folder not the root directory.
@qwert: If it's in the Program Files, mods may have problems patching the files. It's a lot safer to move or install the game elsewhere.
Once the game is installed, you move modmerge.exe into the same directory as "chitin.key" and "baldur.exe" (move modmerge.exe, NOT the other two). Then run modmerge.exe.
After modmerge has done it's thing, move the mods that you want to install into the same directory. They should have a "setup-nameofthemod.exe" file (this is the Weidu installer) and a "nameofthemod" subfolder. Run them one at a time.
When you install the first mod, Weidu will make sure all the mods are the same (newest) version. Check to see if this is 23900, or perhaps a lower number. If it's 23901 or higher, it can cause all kinds of problems.
Also, during the first mod, it will first ask you for a language. This is the language that you'll be playing the game in. All mods will use this option. So if you choose English here, all mods will update the English text file. If you then switch to, say, German in game, all the strings will be missing.
Certain mods will ask for another language. That will be the language in which the mod itself appears. This doesn't really matter, and you can even combine multiple languages from different mods.
The sod.disabled file should be in the dlc folder, so that's good.
I decided to try bigworldsetup to see if that will do the trick....wow theirs a lot of good stuff in there...is it all SOD compatible... Thanks for responding

However, all we need is the link to the download page, so let me include that here:
