1) You've done this a thousand times so you could just make me disappear? 2) Or you could take on the master of the master's slaves? 3) Or you can try me as a Russian immersion-breaking joke (but then I ain't no joke)?
I'm fairly sure I am incorrect, but I'm guessing on Minsc?
1: If you've played through BG2 a thousand times, you can just ignore him in his cage and make him "disappear" 2: Dunno this one 3: Minsc the man and Minsk the city, though that city is Ukranian so this is prolly wrong, haha.. also there's the joke he said in SoD which was then removed that was argued breaking immersion.
@Skatan is probably right. I recently stumbled upon some scripting in NI involving Minsc and the dryads. I wonder if maybe they have a way of rescuing him if you help them get their acorns back from Ilyich...
Well, I can only assume that the "right vicinity" is Chateau Irenicus. I am trying to run all the characters there through my mind and none of them seem to fit...
Actually, I am starting to think that this has something to do with the Dungeon-Be-Gone mod. I have never used it and know little about it so I wouldn't know the answer here...
- I don't understand how we can make him disappear, though. Maybe with the Dungeon-Be-Gone mod, though. - We could take on him if we don't use that mod. Although I never called duergars "slaves" of Joneleth. - Maybe a joke is that his name refers to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, a soviet communist revolutionary and politician?
The second clue describes him literally - he is the master of the master's slaves. The dryads even refer to him as such ("Ilyich is the leader of the master's duergar slaves").
The other two clues refer to two extreme options you can also take, which, as some people have correctly surmised, relate to mods.
Clue 1 - install dungeon-be-gone so you don't have to crawl through Chateau Irenicus for the thousandth time. Ilyich disappears.
Clue 3 - install Tactics and face Improved Ilyich. Improved Ilyich, for those unfamiliar, is a parody of Russian stereotypes (I guess because the name Ilyich sounds Russian). You have Rasputin, communist reference duergar, the Land War in Asia special ability, and so on. Yes it's a joke, but Improved Ilyich is certainly no joke (try it if you doubt me).
Rather fitting that @JuliusBorisov gets this one methinks
Oh... Psh! I figured that the second clue was referring to Ilyich, but the other two threw me WAY off... Perhaps it is better to make mod related clues as scarce as possible...
Both clue 1 and clue 3 do give Ilyich hints though, even without the mod knowledge. Clue 1 about facing someone so often, and clue 3 with the Russian reference.
On the page 36, Jaheiras_Witness has stated several rules of this thread. I think we should add a new rule, that if clues involve mod components, it should be mentioned more clearly (if we ever permit clues about mod components, as not everyone play with mods in the first place). It was very hard to understand this particular riddle, @Jaheiras_Witness.
Ok, now to a new riddle.

@Mush_Mush Now why didn't I think of that? It must be! The Dao are the genies from the plane of earth. I am not sure what the first clue means though, unless it refers to the Ruhk Transmuter in Firkraag's cave. Could be he is talking about someone from Calimshan though...

Let the mortals try
A second stanza can be requested if need be but it'll virtually give it away

10,000th post! Congrats!

It sounds kind of like Haer'Dalis, but I am not as sure as I usually am...

What plane do rakshasas come from anyway?
