I'm just gonna go with the unconscious-dream-sequence-thing and edit my previous post a little so it matches up. Sorry for the confusion, all.

Her stone flew wide, but it caught the birds attention. Aerie grinned and glanced about her, but her party members were gone. Satisfaction turned to panic as she searched fervently, head swaying back and forth, but she was all alone. Minsc, Jaheira, Anomen, Neera...
Even Neera.
The birds dived down at her, cawing for blood. Aerie threw up her arms to protect herself, but she wore no armor and had no weapons at her side. They pecked, and pecked, and pecked into her flesh again and again, beaks dripping red. Hopeless and despaired, Aerie fell to the ground and curled into a ball, begging every god she knew to make it stop.

On the outside, Aerie's unconscious body twitched, and a painful look contorted her face.
Anomen hits one of the birds, killing it. Minsc attacks the other, but misses. Alora misses. Neera misses. Ajantis kills the second bird with one blow. Panting, the rest of you stare at Arkanis, who lies silently, bleeding. Jaheira moves to bandage him.
You can all see where the Blood Hawks had come from- straight up the side of the cliff. Luckily, the cliff has Halfling-sized ledges and cracks that Alora could use to get up there...
"I can see some Halfling-sized ledges and cracks. I'm going to see where those Blood Hawks came from." Alora leaves her party to tend their wounds and starts to climb the cliff face.
Ignoring Alora's remark, Jaheira grumbled, "So much for our valiant Paladin." They talked a big game, often and loudly, yet had precious little to show for all of the bluster.
Alora finds the nest easily. Inside are three egg-sized cunks of Amethyst (worth 80 gp each), a silver amulet shaped like a writhing snake, larger than the one Jaheira rescued earlier (worth 5gp). That is all that is present in the nest.
From here, Alora can see the ledge break into two paths. One heads directly south, around the edge of the mountain, the other east, leading to a vast sea of grass with faint paths leading through it.
Alora is still in pretty good shape so she will take first watch while the others rest and heal. She will be sure to watch the skies in case of more bird attacks.
You rest and heal, and rest agan to get your spells back. Camping on this narrow ledge is perilous, but warmer than on the upper part of the mountain. When the new day dawns, you are ready to continue.
"Another night in nature's garden," Jaheira murmured, happy to awaken in such an embrace. "We are very fortunate," she added, for they were truly that!
OOC: Guys, I had this great dream sequence I was working on earlier today. It was all suspenseful and emotional and stuff. And then, right as I was getting to the climax, my computer lost its battery power and died.
So, I'm just gonna have to write it again. Hopefully it'll still be good...

"N-No... Stop, please...!"
They had her strapped to the table again. Naked from the waist up, gnarled wood digging into her soft underbelly, neck so tightly bound she could barely move her head. They poked and prodded her tender wings like they had so many times before, but now they did so with only their fingers. No needles, no razors, no scalpels.
Instead, the so-called "doctor" held nothing but a jagged, rusted saw.
"It has to be done little one," he chided, wearing an all-too-amused smirk. "The infection will spread if they're not removed."
"I don't care!" she screamed, not that it mattered. They'd never cared about her feelings before. "I'd rather die! You can't do this!"
She squirmed and thrashed beneath the leather straps, kicked as hard as she could within her bounds, but the "doctor" simply shook his head and sighed.
"Tut-tut. I can't work with her fussing like that." Then he motioned to one of the rogues who'd been guarding the door. "Hold her down a bit, won't you?"
More hands grabbed her, even as she resisted. They latched onto her arms, her shoulders, her legs, her torso, groped her like a mannequin to be dressed and posed. Not like an elf. Not like a girl. Not like a living person at all.
"No! Let go of me!" she cried. "Let go of me! Help!!"
"Mmm..." Again the "doctor" spoke, lips pursing as he mulled over his words. "Better, but she's still much too lively. Don't you have any way to knock her out? Some paralysis potion?"
"Aye," said the rogue, "I know where ta get some."
"Excellent." That slimy smile stretched even further across his lips. "That should be more than enough."
From the corners of her eyes, she watched the vile man leave, heard the door swing open and shut even though it was out of her view. He returned minutes later with a vial of dark green liquid in one hand, sloshing like poison inside the glass.
He came into view again, mere inches from her nose, as he reached out and cupped her chin in his grip. She fought him at every turn, kept her lips tightly sealed, but he was just too strong. Even as she tried to bite down, he pried her mouth open and slipped the potion in.
As soon as it touched her lips, slid down her throat, her body went cold. Frozen, not by ice or stone, but locked all the same. Her writhing stilled, her cries fell silent, and the only sign she had left to prove she was still alive was her heart, pounding faster each passing second.
"Ah, there we are," the "doctor" cooed. "Now we can get right to business."
No... she thought, words she would sooner scream, if only she could. No no no no no no no no no--
The potion had stolen her movement, but not her sense of pain. Serrated steel dug into her, right at the roots that connected her wings to her back. Such agony consumed her as it tore and ripped, tore and ripped, back and forth again and again. Tears flowed free as she howled inside, but she couldn't even blink. Couldn't even whimper. Couldn't even beg.
Not until long after they'd finished and left her, grieving and drenched in her own blood.

Aerie sprung from her sleeping spot, and instantly regretted it when she felt the sore spots on her body. She'd been laying on the ground, rocks digging into her sides, but other than that, she was uninjured. The scalds she'd suffered from the geyser had long healed, as well as her other wounds. No doubt she'd have Jaheira to thank for that, and would do so later.
But right now, only a small part of herself recognized any of it. The rest of her remained trapped in her nightmare, reliving the past she'd fought so hard to bury these last years. Seeing it now, feeling the saw carve away at her, hearing her own flesh rip apart, summoned another flood of tears she couldn't stop, regardless of everyone she knew was watching.
Neera rushes over to Aerie's side. "Hey! Don't worry we beat up all the bad things. You're safe now!"
Neera awkwardly raises her arms in an attempt to hug the Avariel.
"We're all safe now. I mean other than all the monsters out there that also want to eat us; we're pretty safe at the moment. Er, that didn't help, did it? Well, things are fine now, at least."
Oops rubs up against and cuddles with Aerie.
OOC: AERIE I LOOOOOVEEE YOOUUUU Damn, I want to romance either Viconia or Neera on my next BG2:EE run but this really makes me want to hug Aerie forever. I'm near the end of BG:EE on my iPhone so I guess I'll have to decide soon.
Aerie sniffed and tried to wipe her eyes dry, but the tears kept flowing, no matter how many times she willed them to stop. In the dark of her closed eyelids she still saw the room. She still felt the straps cling to her sweaty body. The saw's teeth ripping into her...
"N-Neera..." She struggled through every syllable, lips trembling, a knot of nerves in her throat. "Wha... What happened? Where are we, how far have we..."

With his shield and mace, Anomen attacks the bird that had to swoop the lowest (the one that attacked Arkanis) in attempt to ground it.
"And I thought we'd had *enough* fighting today!"
