Proof: If you kill a hobgoblin in the area just south of Beregost it will drop the boots. However if you kill a hobgoblin in the Ulcaster area first then it will drop the boots, and the first hobgoblin will have nothing.

Since we're welcoming NWN to the forums I've got a good one: - You can change the appearance of your clothes/armor for free (tbh I dunno why they charge you for something that only provides aesthetical results). Here's the drill: 1- Open the armor customization dialogue 2- Make the changes 3- Type the quicksave hotkey 4- Reload 5-Press Esc
Et voila , the changes are permanent , free of charge. Please Beamdog, don't change that.

Also, did you know that if you skip the Sarevok/Gorion cut scene after an arrow is fired at you, but before it connects, the arrow will follow you through the night, burst from the fog of war and drop you to critical health in the morning?
Sometimes it also bypasses Tomoko actually disappearing, so she wanders up to share her Chapter 6 dialogue with you.
Also, did you know that if you skip the Sarevok/Gorion cut scene after an arrow is fired at you, but before it connects, the arrow will follow you through the night, burst from the fog of war and drop you to critical health in the morning?
Can be worse than that. I've had many a no-reload run ended by that, though most of the time now I do delay skipping until after the arrows have all been fired (remembering that there is an extra one in LoB) to play safe.

That's one of the fixes introduced by the EE - in the original you could get 2 pairs of the boots like that. Incidentally, if you return the boots to Zhurlong there's then no reputation penalty for killing him to take them back ...

BG1 prologue is filled with abusable things. Players can even cheese-kill Firebead for a 2700 xp woop. And mages using blindness spell can kill everyone in the city, including Gorion.
And if you kill Firebead you can find him again in Beregost, alive and unharmed and totally oblivious of your past deed.
The only thing you can't do is rob the illusions of their weapons.
And of course, if you also install Romantic Encounters mod, with the full mature content, you'll get to experience Candlekeep like nothing else, with lines that can make you think you are the main character in a porn flick.

I wouldn't know about porn flicks, but there is a particularly raunchy scene if you are female. Why can't males have fun too?

So if you drink three Potions of Stone Form, you'll get +9 to all saving throws and a -9 penalty to DEX (which can instantly kill characters with less than 10 DEX). But the AC bonus will still be a flat base AC value of 0, same as if you only drank one potion.

So just chug a bunch of Potions of Invulnerability for perfect saves, I guess. Too bad Oil of Speed doesn't increase your APR more than once, but at least it increases your speed even further.

But you can get the inventory of your friends in Obe's test. Go in, kill stuff, wait for One to ask. Say you just need a bit more time. Get everything from the other characters, save/export your character. Start a new game with great equipment for a L1 character. Just keep in mind:
If you go back in, they might disappear again. (Been years since I did this).
These items seem to have some sort of flag associated with them, so they don't stack with other items. You can get 60 arrow that will stack with each other, but not with other arrows.
This is so cheesy that even Wisconsin dairy farmers shake their heads at it.

If you're looking for lots of extra money and equipment, try out the item duplication trick. You can duplicate gems using a Gem Bag and use the gold to duplicate items via a store. If you get your hands on a Bag of Holding, you can duplicate any item at zero cost, provided you have two copies and the item can fit in the Bag of Holding.
Casting Farsight interferes with the blind thief trick. If the thief is standing in the area affected by Farsight, blindness will not allow him or her to set traps or hide in shadows in the presence of enemies.

Eh, I don't even use thief traps unless I'm desperate, because they're too cheesy. So I was never gonna use the blind thief trick either.
Ascension Melissan is one of the absolute hardest fights in the entire saga. You have to fight every member of the Five plus Sarevok simultaneously. Abazigal will gleefully attack during Time Stop, Sendai will Heal the other members of the Five, and Illasera will kill any mage that doesn't have PFMW active on the first round. The moment any of them dies, Melissan herself will arrive. Aside from being much stronger and much smarter than the original Melissan, she has an extremely fast-casting Time Stop spell, and if she gets it off the ground, she will teleport to wherever Charname is and use Greater Whirlwind Attack. Anyone who does not have extremely high damage resistance or PFMW will die; Stoneskins and HP alone will not help, and AC of course is completely useless during Time Stop.
There is, however, a very simple way to win the fight: hit Melissan with CTRL-Y about 50 times.
