One thing is certain from the page 123 of this thread: it's better to keep posting "unreliable" pieces of information about SoD than go into discussions about NPCs' children or people's views on Beamdog.
"This huge warhammer looks as if it would take the combined strength of two men to wield it. It's think, steel head is bound with studded bronze bands and is speckled what appears to be dried blood. The inscription upon its stand reads: "Bonecracker. This magnificent weapon belonged to the legendary warrior Dumok the Fist, who died in the assault on Dragonspear Castle"
As we all know, the events in IWD happen in 1281 DR, while BG happens in 1368 DR, much later than that.
It may indeed be the case that the tie, of which Phillip Daigle told us, will be about Dumok the Fist. A ghost of Dumok/someone reanimated Dumok with magic/or something else of this kind.
I am still saying the goblin is Weenog's great great great grand child. I already called the gender before anyone else did. I should get a badge for that, especially if she is romancable.
Let us all try to help @BladeDancer find it in his heart to trust us!
Not that it really matters, because Namara being a half-elf born around the time of BG1 would be either dead or very close to death due to old age at the start of the 5th edition timeline, anyway.
Wow. Okay, color me convinced now, even though I still aim to personally see that side quest in my play-through. Either way, you guys win, I would give you all oatmeal raisin cookies for gaining some of my trust, but, sending cookies (not the other kind of cookies!) over the Internet is very tricky.
I still can't believe Coran actually made the same mistake more than once, being the father of not just Namara, but also Krydle and who knows how many half-elves over the years...? I thought he had a little more sense than that and learned his lesson from his fling with Brielbara to... "protect" himself. Well, Safana said it best, he is a stupid elf.
@BladeDancer I didn't mean to be hostile; I just wanted to make sure you saw it. I guess the tagging was over-excessive, considering which thread we're in.
I'm sorry, everyone... Didn't mean to hijack the thread on something so nit-picky.
@Nonnahswriter Apology accepted. Nobody's perfect, so let's let bygones be bygones and try to move on from such a nit-picky subject.
Nobody has touched this subject yet, but I think that it would be great to have a hidden treasure on new SoD maps. I just want to feel that emotion when I suddenly find a necklace +10 to all thieving skills somewhere among the Underdark caverns.
Also, it could be a good idea if a party member commented on finding some of a hidden treasure, something like Imoen's words from BG1 NPC mod on finding a diamond after leaving Candlekeep about the Winthrop's idea that diamonds don't grow on trees.

Nah, unless they hide it a different way where tab doesn't reveal its location. The tab feature is great, however, it took away the pixel hunting joy of finding the amazing loot.

I remember how hard to find the ankheg plate used to be.
Did we just get confirmation of brand new animations? That would be pretty exciting.
If your refer to "To create a new monster with new animations and everything is a very costly process for the Infinity engine. I will say that we have added some new monsters to Baldur’s Gate in Dragonspear, monsters you’ve never seen before", it may be connected to neothelids.
It's a gargantuan-sized aberration, psionic in nature. The description is a "slime-covered tentacled worm of dragonlike proportions. Four 25-foot-long tentacles sprout from its eyeless head, writhing around a lampreylike mouth of nightmarish size. A revolting mucus trail marks the wake of the horror."
It is described as "a rare result of the mind flayer reproductive cycle gone horribly wrong." It has an acid breath weapon, swallow whole, blindsight, and a pile of psionic abilities. CR 15, with 25 hit dice.

On October 23-25, 2015, there will be a panel Return to Baldur’s Gate: The Making of “Siege of Dragonspear” in Ramada Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre:
"Why create an expansion for a 17-year-old game? Panelists from the Edmonton-based Beamdog are here to talk about Siege of Dragonspear, the upcoming expansion to Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition.
Panelists: Amber Scott, Andrew Foley, Philip Daigle, Mad Bee"
I wonder, whether the use of the word "upcoming" (it's a rare thing to change descriptions for the events) means that as on October 22, 2015, the expansion won't be released yet.

Actually , if they can release SOD within this year , i think I shall thanks for the god,
If the game delay to 2016 CQ1 , it is still reasonable for me,
The first and last couple of months in the year (~October to February) are kind of a no-no zone for indie game releases, partly because game stores have their big sales around that time, and partly because AAA games tend to come out near the end of the year and they suck up a lot of the attention. I wonder if these considerations will affect the SoD release date.

At first, we all thought it was about Weenog (or his heir) making his way into the Adventure Y.
But now I actually can't find a better "tie" to IWD than this find by @Grum
https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/42924/dumok-the-fist-will-we-meet-him
Indeed, when we check http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Icewind_Dale_(game) , it mentines that IWD references Dragonspear Castle.
In further search, as http://icewinddale.wikia.com/wiki/Temple_of_Tempus_(Easthaven)#cite_note-0 confirms, the Temple of Tempus in Easthaven stores a warhammer close to the entrance, called Bonecracker.
"This huge warhammer looks as if it would take the combined strength of two men to wield it. It's think, steel head is bound with studded bronze bands and is speckled what appears to be dried blood. So, IWD mentions Dumok the Fist getting killed in the assault on Dragonspear Castle... But the history of Dragonspear is a long story of constant assaults, as http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonspear_Castle shows.

...
But new sprites would be awesome. I think it could be undead shorties... Definite lack of undead shorty sprites...
Looks like a Mind Flayer bred with a Phaerimm xD
...
My adventuring party is going to have a nasty surprise in SoD. I know it...
