Did you know that a person who is a historian from a werewolf village and asks a player to deliver a cloak lost during storm and then Belladonna flowers, can actually be a woman - Delainy, or a man - Durlyle, based on the sex of the main character?
I've been always playing male characters in BG1 but during the MP run our leader is a female, so I've been surprised to find Durlyle instead of Delainy.
This is an interesting feature, somewhat rear in BG games.

I never noticed this on Balduran's Island! But the same goes for Garren Windspear's child in BG2.

I normally role play a cold, arrogant elf looking for power. But Delainy was always a soft spot... I wished so bad I could save her. Damn human feelings...
I just discovered that in both BG1:EE and BG2:EE the Spook spell has the "no LOS Required" flag. This means that it can be cast at any distance from the caster regardless of obstacles as long as you have some way of selecting the target of the spell. So you could send a Wizard's Eye in to scout and mug your enemies from a great distance with this spell. Keep in mind that I highly suspect this behavior is unintentional and a bug.
@Gotural and @bengoshi noticed this before me in our MP run... I must have had my mind on other things because I thought they were messing with NRD or something and didn't think that there was actually a problem with Spook.
Edit: Obviously a legacy bug as it has this flag in vBG2 as well...
You are commissioned to gain the services of a notorious travelling lich for a great noble family of amn. He is said to be the most nefarious lich in the land after the unfortunate death of Kangaxx to a misunderstanding. Unfortunately the lich will only come and move in if you provide it with 200lb illithium to build a grand sarcophogus. If you can't afford this, you also have the option to hire a mage to dress in rags and a turban, and walk around very slowly, casting timestop. Regardless of how you choose to solve the quest, you gain 32000 quest xp and a magical flail from the families armoury

A few of Baldur's Gate 2's HLA spells were included in BG:EE, but there's no way of casting them normally. However, using EEKeeper you can give your mage the power to cast Comet and Summon Dark Planetar. Unfortunately, they will not let you summon comets or dark planetars. Instead, both of them will turn you into a Loup Garou.
Energy Blades (for both mages and clerics) and Mass Raise Dead are the only HLA spells that are actually in the game's files. Although Energy Blades is quite powerful for a low level BG1 party to be able to cast, it's not as ridiculously game-breaking as something like Comet or Dragon's Breath would be. Here's why:
For most spells, their minimum power is based on the minimum level at which a spellcaster would be able to memorize and cast the spell. Thus, if a level 2 mage casts Fireball from a scroll, it will deal 5d6 damage rather than 2d6. However, Energy Blades doesn't work that way. If you cast it at level 1, you only get one energy blade.
This might be a little bit off-topic (maybe) and don't know if this has actually already come up somewhere else: South Park uses a lot of Baldur's Gate and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 music. For example: season 5 episode 11 "The Entity" in about 14:10 has the beginning of a battle music (can't remember which one) from Baldur's Gate.
- Many of the BG1 portraits are made from photos of the team that made the game, and their wives and friends. Cameron Tofer is perhaps most well known as Garrick, whereas old Bioware bosses Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk are Ajantis and Coran. When Beamdog did an AMA on reddit Trent Oster (who is apparently Dorn) named the people behind as many portraits as he could remember.
I was already aware of this one, but I've always thought that the Male Portrait 2 guy must have been a total alpha stud.
Did you know that if you murder Nalin (the priest of Helm in Nashkel), his death scream is the same as the scream that the assassin in the beginning cutscene of Shadows of Amn makes before he gets disintegrated?
Did you know that the Robe of Vecna is included in BG1:EE? Baeloth wears it in the Black Pits. You can get it by importing a character from BG2 who had the item.
Or by copying the WA2ROBE item, renaming it to LEAT01, moving the new file into your override drive, and then collecting a new copy of the Robe of Vecna from every enemy wearing leather armor.

"Our lich is 700 years old and once had his minions destroy an entire city."
"Well, last week, our lich fed the butler to a demon!"
"My goodness, how delightfully horrific!"

You should go back to the first page.
By the time you make it to the end, there will be dozens of other pages and the cycle will repeat itself.
You will never have time to actually play BG again.
Sorry.
I could only get it to work in multiplayer for some reason (lag?)
Lulu states as an attack line, "Po oczach ich, Pix, po oczach!" which means, "Go for the eyes, Pix, for the eyes!"
The name Pix is referring to her Faerie familiar. Obviously this is referencing Minsc's famous line.
