Oh, and here's something else. Hurgan Stoneblade says that his grandfather fought Aec'Letec alongside Durlag. Sure enough, his grandfather is mentioned in one of the books in Durlag's Tower.
It came to pass that the hero Durlag and his man-at-arms, Arlo Stoneblade, ventured into the bowels of the Great Rift. They fought the hideous tanar'ri Aec'Letec and, with a single blow of his axe, Durlag slew the demon's body and entrapped its soul in an enchanted dagger.
The fighter class is the only one with /xx scores on character creation. If you were to make "Innocent" available as a character class, 18 STR flat would indeed be the maximum.
It's weird, nobody mentionned the fact that Hurgan got himself an illegal 18 dex score. Bioware not only cheated stats on npcs (Minsc, Coran, Anomen, ...), but also on "innocents". Dex tome must have been in sales in Baldur's Gate at the time.

Does that mean they can't roll "normal" 18? I never noticed that, to be honest.

True but "Innocent" is only used in this case because of engine limitations. In this case he uses the fighter animation and has grandmastery in axes. It's pretty clear he was intended to be a fighter but because he is actually innocent (meaning the player should be penalized for randomly killing him) he gets the innocent class.

Nope. A fighter can never hit a flat 18; only an 18/xx. Only way to get a fighter to flat 18 is to start with 17 and use a stat tome to go to 18, start with 19 and choose to lose 1 point of Strength in BG2, or combine both methods, starting at 18/xx, going to 19, and then going back down to 18.
If you cast a spell illegally and the coweled wizards attack you, nearby guards will help you fight the wizards. So much for the 'illegal' use of magic.
It is possible to save the servants in de'arnise keep. When you enter the rooms they are in click on them as fast as possible. This will stop them from calling for help and will keep the nearby troll from attacking them. You can then kill the troll. The servant won't have any new dialogue and will just stand there.

I have always rescued them by casting web when out of sight and either killing the trolls using ranged weapons or by luring them out of sight of the servants. That's REAL roleplaying as there is no reward for doing so. The servants continue to call "help me!" even when they have already been helped!
Did you know that if you have the ring and amulet before being given Ordulinian's quest, he won't recognise that you have them in your possession, but if you go outside and return to him, he will. 3000exp. You can of course kill Arkion and Nemphre for the experience with no loss of reputation, but my current character wouldn't do that.
Cotirso (of the cleric stronghold quests of BG2) is actually a fighter/mage/thief. This is a bit strange since he was expected to be promoted to a position in the church before you.
He's also the only Fighter/Mage/Thief in the BG series.
I just checked and it also looks like there are no cleric/rangers in the BG series. Also the only sorcerers in BG2EE are ones introduced in the EE content.

It was obvious to me that he had fighter levels given his APR, but I wouldn't have suspected that.
Ankhegs can attack you even from within a building. Try luring the one on the Baldur's Gate bridge map to Tenya's home for some Sword Coast nightmare fuel.

Too close to the sea to have a basement. I don't imagine an animal that size would have any trouble burrowing up through a floor!

They have attacked me inside buildings many a time, and if you try to sleep inside the nest you are highly likely to be awoken to the sound of chittering.
A "Ring of Gax" appears in the main campaign of NWN. Unfortunately it got demoted to a fetch quest plot item that only serves the purpose of allowing you to access the next level of a dungeon. It has no magical effects whatsoever.
In polish version of Baldur's Gate, actor who voiced Sarevok also voiced Mufasa from "Lion King". Ironic, considering that both of them are brothers killed by brothers in struggle of power. And veeery confusing, when you're watching "Lion King" with younger cousins.

Oh, to hear Sarevok talk about respect for every living creature... "That hairball is my brother and your future god of murder!"
Siege of Dragonspear fact: did you know that the portal to the Fugue Plane in Kanalglym can be used not only to deposit the remains from the Ghost Ettin cave, but also the remains you find in the Repository of Undeath two chapters earlier? Unfortunately, no extra content was added for this so it is definately an oversight, especially as throwing in the Repository remains triggers the journal entry for the Ghost Ettin quest ones (though you receive no exp, nor do the "Lost" ghosts spawn.)
