- Tony Jay, the voice of Kresselack the Black Wolf from Icewind Dale, is also the voice of Monsieur D'Arque in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the old man who works with Gaston to try to commit Belle's father to the Asylum). CRAZY OLD MAURICE HMM??
More importantly he was the voice of Megabyte on Reboot

Kelddath Ormlyr at the temple east of Beregost clearly pronounces Lathander as Low-thander. Does he not know how to pronounce the deity he's dedicated his life to spreading the word of (or am I a schmuck and he's correct)?

He's a false prophet that enslaves sirens to do his beck and call. I usually expose him after I handed in some Wyvern heads and gives him back his amulet of Cyric that Bassilus stole from him.
Bioware actually bothered to program charm dialogue for Drizzt.
So in the event that you manage to get past his 98% magic resistance, 90% innate resistance to charm spells, and save vs spell of 5 he will say the following to you (and then leave).
"I should like to travel with you a while, friend, but I've places I must be. A pleasure meeting you."

So... not... worth... it.
Something like "I cannot stay and help, but please take one of my swords to help you in your journey" would have been better.
Even better, he gives you a regular short sword and disappears forever or until you meet him in BG2 and he asks for his sword back only to go hostile when you tell him you no longer have it.
If you pay off the ogre's on the bridge leading to the gnoll fortress, you get 250 experience points.
At 175 a pop, it's less than what you get if you kill them and you miss out on the loot as they walk away. But if you are quick enough to kill them, you can get your money back, the gauntlets and other assorted loot, plus that extra 250 experience.
And you thought you all were power gaming by just killing them outright from the start.

But if you give them the 200 gold that they ask for right away they will think you are rich and try to kill you!

Also, the voice of the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain games. And The Transcendent One in Planescape:Torment. Also Michael Bell does the voice of Haer'Dalis, Larrel, Nimbul and Raziel in Soul Reaver.
Someone at Overhaul took the time to actually program in Kelddath Ormlyr and Nalin (the priest of Helm in Nashkel) so that they are using the appropriate kits.
The Rod of Resurrection is BY FAR the absolute best healing item in the whole game! It has infinite range! It can bring the dead back to life with full health! It can even be used on a living target to heal them fully! Who needs crappy Tree of Life Nuts and Potions of Superior Healing when you can just have someone in a corner with this bad boy?

Don't forget it cures level drain too. Kill companion, whip out rod, instant level fix.
If you charm the harbor master he says the following.
"Well, friend, ya might be interested ta know that there's been quite a few Iron Throne ships coming to dock these past few weeks. They've been stockpiling something, and if I guess right, that something is iron."
Which is kind of funny since he already says the following (found below) when he isn't charmed (provided you have a decent enough reputation).
"The iron shortage, eh? Well, there's not much to tell. With the Nashkel mines basically shut down, and bandits making it impossible to ship overland, iron's become rare. Recently though, the Iron Throne's been shipping in iron through their merchant fleet. It's really strange, 'cause their main competitors aren't doing the same. They're just lettin' the Throne hog the whole market."
Called Shot will tack on 2 damage at 16th level. It won't help remove Stoneskins on direct hits, but if you attack using Fire Seeds, the extra 2 damage will remove Stoneskins from everything in the area of effect. You can remove Stoneskins from a Lich who has PFMW active, and interrupt his spells with the fire damage!

I think that is more of a case of death removing level drain as opposed to the rod...
You can kill ruffians, sailors and stolen good fencers in the docks district without taking a rep hit so feel free to take out the garbage before you leave for Spellhold.
Turning off gore in the options will have a side effect of preventing loot destruction if someone is killed via cold/petrification/disintegration/level drain. The down side is that you just turned off gore and you don't get to see all the cool animations, but loot is more important, I guess.
If you charm Yago he reveals more about his relationship with Brielbara.
"Life has been pretty lousy lately; how about you, friend? My bitch of a wife slept with some elvish mongrel, and even had his child. By the Nine Hells, does she ever have gall. Anyway, she's not laughing anymore; I cursed the child of that unholy union, so that it would die an early death. I hope the little brat drowns in its own vomit."
If you have Coran in your group you can also learn that Brielbara is Yago's wife, but otherwise she won't tell you much about the reasons behind her child being cursed.
...that there is a tactic that only fighter/thieves can do?
It goes like this.
Step 1: Go into hiding or use an invisibility potion Step 2: Put on plate armor Step 3: You will still be hidden in the shadows! Step 4: Backstab Step 5: Tank in your plate.
I just tested it in BG1 and it works. Which is a pretty cool way to start off combat with a high amount of damage, and to then tank it out. If you want to really tank it out, you can specialize in the use of shields, because as a fighter you'll be able to carry the heaviest of them.

pt 2:
It is impossible to skip the 'daemon' quest in BG1. When I entered Ulgoth's Beard, I had my solo fighter/thief immediately swig down an invisibility potion. This let him sneak past the cultist mage without losing the dagger. Hurgan Stoneblade wouldn't take it!
@semiticgod sorry, I was feeling incredibly irritable and that slipped out. Just to be clear that remark was not directed at you. Ignore me... I think I am starting to regain my composure now.
Anyway, the actual Shade Lord that you fight is CE. You were looking at the wrong .cre file. The actual shade lord is shadel.cre and not shadeld.cre. Not sure what the second one is for...

Guess which "Silverblade" used to be on the old "Interplay" BG forums many, many moons ago?

And in the Drow city in BG2...notice there is a NEOGI DEATHSPIDER spelljammer ship?
