Did you know that there is a fortune teller called Kveroslava near the Trademeet market, she offers interesting insight on each of your party members for 10 gold coins each, however if you speak to her with Charname, she gets scared and refuses to do any more business.
I spoke to her before with Charname, I was surprised to discover that she addresses each companion separately if you choose them to speak to her. I had Jaheira as party leader on this occasion, not Charname as before.

Did you know that you can charm Cyrdemac instead of killing him?
"My name is Cyrdemac. At the moment I am blackmailing a woman named Areana. She had a tryst in the Undercellar that she does not want to be public knowledge. You know what I suggest friend? Why don't you go back to Areana, tell her that I'm dead, and then blackmail her with the threat of revealing her murderous inclinations? I'll be alive, and you'll have gold. We'll both win."
You can also just outright charm Areana as well. She then responds with.
"Here is the 500 gold that I owe you. I feel that I owe you more for your gallant acts. Here, take this gem, this should be satisfactory payment."
Which gives you a bloodstone gem (on top of the 500 gold) and this journal entry.
"A Contract Killing Killing is an awful lot of work. How much easier it was to charm the woman who wanted me to kill Cyrdemac and simply ask her to reward me now."
Maybe it's a well-known thing, but I've completed several playthroughs being not aware of it and discovered it just a few months ago. It is about turning on TAB highlightning permanently. It works with the latest BGEE and BG2EE. Just press TAB, do not release it, and press, for example P (I assume default keybindings). Then release TAB. Then press P again. Try to move your characters, you should be able to see their titles and the interactable objects. It's not very useful but it was suprprising to stumble upon it.
Shadows take double damage from electricity. And since they often appear in narrow halls, Lightning Bolts clear them up rather quickly.
The Wand of Lightning only does 1/3 damage on a failed save, not half. Each of the six bolts does 3d6 damage, with a save for 1d6. But it still does more damage than a max-level Lightning Bolt spell, unlike the other wands.
Are you doing a charm run where you charm everyone?
If so, did you find R.A. Salvatore yet?
Nah just a Near Infinity search.
I did though find R.A. Salvatore. He was hiding in my bookshelf for some reason. Must have been a miniaturization spell cast astray by me that was the cause of that!

Be careful doing this, on my computer it would make the game freeze eventually. Maybe it's just my computer though. This was always the cause though for sure.

He's the reader in the infirmary in Candlekeep. Charm him and he says he is working on a novel about Drizzt.
I mentioned this in another thread: Thalantyr's spell to restore Melicamp is called "Antichickenator". You can use dispel magic on the charmed D'Arnise captain of the guard (forgot his name but Nalia talks about him) and have a talk with him before he runs away, resigning in the process. EDIT: Also, theres a man in beregost who lets you sleep in his house for free, provided you dont steal from him (you can do it anyways ). His home is north west of the smithy.

She does, but not for every companion - she will tell Yoshimo and Cernd that she can see nothing in their future.
Did you know the voice actress for Yxunomei from Icewind Dale? It's Tara Strong.
She also did: -Rikku from Final Fantasy X -Harley Quinn in the Arkham games -Rachel from Ninja Gaiden -Paz from Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes/Peace Walker -Batgirl from the Batman cartoons And a ton of other ones.
Did you know that with the exception of the Dragon Disciple all the new kits make an appearance in BG2EE, either in the added areas/quests in the base game or in the Black Pits 2.
Vocalize will effectively cure the effects of silence (even though it does not always remove the silence portrait icon). Even if the vocalize effect wears off before the silence one does, you will still be able to cast spells. So if several of your casters get silenced, then just pass around the amulet of power to cure it. You only have to put it on for an instant.

The Ring of Gaxx is named after D&D co-creator Gary Gygax. Kangaxx is really just King Gax
The Jovial Juggler sells Westgate Ruby Wine for 10gp, but Feldpost sells it for only 1gp ( I may have recently gone on a virtual bar hop around Beregost that revealed to me such things).

Feldpost is known to water down their liquor to keep Marl in check.

The Ring of Gaxx is also one of the artifacts listed in the 1st Edition Dungeon Masters Guide. As is the Machine of Lum the Mad.
Incidentally, Errtu (from the Drizzt books) was one of the specifically named type VI demons from the 1st edition. Balor was the most powerful of the type VI demons, and these type of demons later became called Balor type.
The hapless assassins Carbos and Shank make a mysterious reappearance in BG2, fighting over a woman in the Bridge District. They are still completely incompetent and take ages trying to kill each cos they cannot hit a barn door to save themselves. I take this as just an easter egg and non-canon, because I don't see why anybody would bother to resurrect either of them. lol

But Merella is Chaotic Good.
This was likely one of the fixes that was part of the BG2 Fixpack. The BG2 Fixpack was incorporated into BG2:EE.
