In Durlag's Tower inner level 2 (kiel helmet), if you put the 3 colored wardstones into the teleport stone container (right after goblet), you get a lightning bolt shot at you for each stone and attempt
I just keep picturing a demon knight trying to be good, but not knowing how. Doing things like helping kittens across the street and putting little old ladies into trees so that he can later help them down.
He was lawful good. He showed himself to powerful adventures, really just asking them to stop him.
Despite being able to teleport he didn't do so to hinder your party.
He didn't kill Dalton even though he could, giving him the chance to escape and tell more powerful adventurers (as well as the warrior outside the room and the rogue in the tower basement).
As lawful good he was trying his best to get banished in a way which he could explain to his superiors.
"Look I did my best. See these +2 and +3 wounds? How could I have predicted that those adventurers would have all the runestones needed to get past each floor? Twas fate!"
the ossifier references actual petrification twice. I wonder if beamdog actually intended it to do that instead? perhaps they just thought it was too overpowered at the last minute and changed it to something mundane like barkskin
if I wasn't such a purist I'd probably mod it to have a 5% chance of petrif on hit with a save vs poly of -2 instead. heh
if you use a scroll of Spell Immunity, you can (will) be interrupted by damage taken
I can see why that would happen, since you need to specify the school you want immunity to, and so that secondary casting is interruptible. I assume the same logic would allow contingency/sequencer spells to be interrupted as well. It's just that nobody ever uses these in the middle of combat.
Ctrl-K is a cheat command for kicking out party members. You can kick out your PC using it and run a 6-NPC party. Oh, and if you kill your PC while they're not in your party, the game doesn't end. I've never tried it but I wonder how long you could actually go before some script breaks the game? Oh and this would set an interesting stage for Imoen as protagonist if only she didn't get abducted
@Artemius_I: I thought it wasn't possible, but more testing confirmed that you can in fact switch the identity of Charname... but only after you re-load the game in which you've booted the original Charname from the party. The next character in line then becomes Charname.
So if you had a full party in Chateau Irenicus and wanted Yoshimo to become Charname, you would need to: 1. CTRL-K the main character. 2. CTRL-K Imoen. 3. CTRL-K Jaheira. 4. CTRL-K Minsc. 5. Save. 6. Load. 7. Talk to the main character, Imoen, Jaheira, and Minsc, and ask them to re-join the party. Or just CTRL-Q them.
Then, you'd have the same party as before, but Yoshimo would count as the main character for the rest of the game. Yoshimo's questline and/or dialogues might break the game, but I think it's more likely they won't happen to begin with, as Yoshimo will no longer have Yoshimo's ID.
Remember the gnoll look-alike creatures known as "Flinds"? Although their animation shows them carrying two handed swords, and that's what they drop should you kill one, they deal crushing damage. Go figure.

And they also infect you with -4 thaco each hit unless save vs wand
Hexxat will turn to mist after being reduced to 1 HP, but she will not die until her mist form floats over to Charname. If you repeatedly order her to float away from Charname, she can stay in mist form indefinitely. If you Maze Charname, she will not reach Charname until Charname escapes from the maze effect.
While in mist form, damage, instant death effects, and level drain cannot kill her. Only stat drain can kill her. This means she's an excellent tank if you keep her in mist form.
Beamdog may change this; some game files suggest that enemies are supposed to ignore her while she's in mist form.

Maybe they hit you with the flat part of the sword blades?
I tried using the CTRL-K trick to turn Hexxat into the main character, but it's not very reliable.
If Hexxat is the protagonist and gets to 1 HP, she'll switch to mist form and stay that way permanently. She can't drop below 1 HP and is immune to all instant death effects besides stat drain, so she's nearly impossible to kill in mist form. She can still attack and do everything else normally.
But I've found that she'll automatically die if you add anyone else to party, because she's scripted to die once she reaches Charname, and then come back later on. This means a Hexxat Charname can't be truly immortal unless she's playing solo.
She also died when SCS Pai'Na hit her with Insect Plague, and I have no idea why.
Hexxat would be immensely overpowered as a solo Charname, but there are bugs here and there that seem to kill her spontaneously.

I always thought their swords looked like batons to be honest.
That would actually be pretty cool. And it reminds me: did you know that the huge club some lizard men in Icewind dale are armed with seems to be a japanese kanabō? I'd be more inclined to use clubs if my characters could swing around with one of those unwieldy things.

Also, Mind Flayers seem to be immune to electricity, but Ulitharids are not.
that's his unusual act of charity most likely explained by the helm!

For a constitution of 1-19 you have a minimum roll of 1.
For a constitution of 20 you have a minimum roll of 2.
For a constitution of 21-22 you have a minimum roll of 3.
For a constitution of 23-25 you have a minimum roll of 4.
So if you are a dwarf or a half-orc and play without maxed HP rolls, you may want to make a beeline for that constitution tome...

Obviously they are supposed to be using their flindbars in the game but they are animated like clubs. Why they carry the swords is anyone's guess...
