True. Loved the universe Lovecraft created. Lovecraft's actual writing - not so much.
CoC was my favourite pnp RPG of all time, and the campaign I ran based around uncovering the facts surrounding a lost expedition to the Pacific by Sir Joseph Banks* was, for me, the zenith of my roleplaying career!
The next poster has just read up on the esteemed Sir Joseph Banks, and understands exactly why I made him a historical figure steeped in the mythos.
*the campaign began in 1921 with the discovery of letters relating to the Society of Dilettanti at a regional auction house in Chichester, and ended in tragedy several years later on an island somewhere in the Pacific. There were no survivors. (Such fond memories!)
I'm not really big on the whole materialism thing. The best things tend not to not be for sale, like relationships, or at least are extremely cheap, like Internet access.
Sort of true, sort of false? I like technology but I'm usually way behind the times with it, won't update to the newest stuff unless the old stuff stops working entirely, and there are a lot of things I prefer to do by hand. Like, I wrote all my tests in college and law school by hand instead of using the test software like everyone else. Did the same for the bar exam.
Me and technology, it's kind of a love hate relationship. It has betrayed me before.
True! I loooove pie, especially if it's covered in so much vanilla sauce you can't even see the pie or that the pie is just sticking up a little there in the middle, like a tiny, tiny island of pie in the middle of a huge ocean of vanilla sauce. MMmmmmmmm vanilla sauce! And pie.
The next poster makes their own vanilla sauce. (Tried to google a recipe in english using real vanilla and egg yolks, but could only find cheating recipes using corn starch and vanilla extract. Cheaters!)
Hmmm, well, you got lucky one this one in that I just got back home. Since very few people are probably online right now, I'll guess the next poster is glad I responded to the previous one (I don't play this thread ever).
