True. I call the tencacles call to me, the call of cthulhu.

    The next poster loves Lovecraft.

True. Loved the universe Lovecraft created. Lovecraft's actual writing - not so much.

CoC was my favourite pnp RPG of all time, and the campaign I ran based around uncovering the facts surrounding a lost expedition to the Pacific by Sir Joseph Banks* was, for me, the zenith of my roleplaying career!

The next poster has just read up on the esteemed Sir Joseph Banks, and understands exactly why I made him a historical figure steeped in the mythos.

*the campaign began in 1921 with the discovery of letters relating to the Society of Dilettanti at a regional auction house in Chichester, and ended in tragedy several years later on an island somewhere in the Pacific. There were no survivors. (Such fond memories!)
  • False. I love Lovecraft but I have no idea what you're talking about.

The next person would choose cake if presented with the choice between cake or death.
  • Mantis37Mantis37 Member Posts: 1,177
Unclear. Is this the death of the thousand cuts or the death of the thousand cakes? The latter would show a clear profit margin.

The next poster will be thinking about orange penguins when they write their reply.

Absolutely correct. Now I can't get the image out of my head.

The next poster enjoys eating raw carrots.

Only if they're finely sliced sticks. And I do have some mayonnaise dipping at hand.

The next poster can't have any pudding if they don't eat their meat first.

False. I can't have much pudding because I have less lactase than others (medically diagnosed lactose intolerant here). But meat makes no difference.

The next poster has a Next poster in their room.

  • SkatanSkatan Member, Moderator Posts: 5,352
False, but I did have terminator 2 poster in my room for many, many years.

The next person thinks Terminator 2 is the climax of doomsday action moves and that no movie will ever surpass its perfection.
  • Balrog99Balrog99 Member Posts: 7,371
False. I'm more of a Matrix fan myself. Terminator 2 was a very good movie however.

The next poster really believes he's stuck in the matrix...

False: she does not. It would explain some odd things about life though.

The Next Poster : Dose not engage in the insanity known as black Friday shopping.
  • semiticgoddesssemiticgoddess Member Posts: 14,903
I'm not really big on the whole materialism thing. The best things tend not to not be for sale, like relationships, or at least are extremely cheap, like Internet access.

The next poster cannot live without the Internet.
  • ThacoBellThacoBell Member Posts: 12,235
True. Everything depends on internet access these days.

The nest poster is a Luddite.

Sort of true, sort of false? I like technology but I'm usually way behind the times with it, won't update to the newest stuff unless the old stuff stops working entirely, and there are a lot of things I prefer to do by hand. Like, I wrote all my tests in college and law school by hand instead of using the test software like everyone else. Did the same for the bar exam.

Me and technology, it's kind of a love hate relationship. It has betrayed me before.

The next poster cannot stand onions.
  • semiticgoddesssemiticgoddess Member Posts: 14,903
False. I can't say no to Onionsan.

The next poster is Undertale trash.

True because I know we're the only creature that uses our hands for everything and then eats with them.

The next poster likes pie better than pi.
  • SkatanSkatan Member, Moderator Posts: 5,352
True! I loooove pie, especially if it's covered in so much vanilla sauce you can't even see the pie or that the pie is just sticking up a little there in the middle, like a tiny, tiny island of pie in the middle of a huge ocean of vanilla sauce. MMmmmmmmm vanilla sauce! And pie.

The next poster makes their own vanilla sauce.
(Tried to google a recipe in english using real vanilla and egg yolks, but could only find cheating recipes using corn starch and vanilla extract. Cheaters!)
  • lolienlolien Member, Moderator, Translator (NDA) Posts: 3,108
Not really, but here's the recipe:

    3 egg yolks
    5 dl milk
    3 cups of sugar
    1 vanilla (spindle core)
    1.5 tablespoons of edible starch

Mix the ingredients in a bowl (using a hand whisk) without lump.
Steam over, stirring constantly, cook it with thick cream.

The next poster has a teddy bear.
  • semiticgoddesssemiticgoddess Member Posts: 14,903
I used to, when I was a kid, but my favorite was a little white stuffed bunny named Carrot. These days I have a stuffed squid named Squiggles.

The next poster would cuddle a cuttlefish.

Hmmm, well, you got lucky one this one in that I just got back home. Since very few people are probably online right now, I'll guess the next poster is glad I responded to the previous one (I don't play this thread ever).
  • semiticgoddesssemiticgoddess Member Posts: 14,903
Yes. I'm glad @Balrog99 and @jjstraka34 are good friends. You're one of my favorite ships.

The next poster will share their favorite ship.

The next poster will share their favorite ship.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer was my first true love. Oh, the memories...

The next poster has some other sort of nautical experience they wish to share, or at least been in the ocean at some point in their lives..

Been on the ocean for fishing. Didn't catch a tuna but at least didn't get seasick like most of the rest of the passengers.

The next poster spilled the contents of his/her guts the last time he/she was on the ocean

False. I've never been seasick, and actually find the rocking of a boat rather calming.

The next poster's favorite Star Trek captain is Janeway.
