Alright, there's a new build of the Beta for Mac and Windows up now. We're waiting on a few additional fixes for Android, and then we'll have a build up for that as well.
In addition, I'm looking for some specialist volunteers to go bug-hunting. Interested? Read here for more information.
Yes I can reproduce with the beta. But it's random because it depends on the movement of the bears. Sorry I should have add these details in my original post.
Wait a little so that the bears move closer to the border of the map then cast the spell. The crash happens only if a bear is scared (yellow circle) and run away out of the map.
Okay. A problem with the Gorion fight scene. Gorion fires a bolt of lightening and it shoots the wrong way... I can repeat this again and again and again... But it is not really a bug more cosmetic...
Everything else is smooth. Onto the friendly arm and onwards...
Yeah I hav the same problem, but as Anduin said it a cosmetic thing not a real bug.
Is anyone else encountering that issue? I'm not seeing it in the beta or in the currently released version. "P" opens the Priest spells screen, but F8 doesn't.
EDIT: Which character is that? Do they have a specific script assigned?
i hate to say it but ive remained silent and been optimistic enough for the EE series, after a radio silence with the fans of this for a such a long time, then sudden progress, and now restarting. i can no longer play EE. im heading back to the regular modded, reliable original games.
The restart was only because someone broke the survey. I've left the original count there so that you can see it, but in order to get an accurate count I did have to reset it.
That being said, if the patch is ready before we reach 500 votes, we may nudge things along. We're just as eager and impatient to get it out the door as you are, but we need to make sure everything is in order.
@Dee It's Branwen but this just happens always, with any NPC (regardless of clerical abilities) and it happens in BG2:EE as well. F8 just behaves exactly like the 'P' key on my laptop. In fact, I just reassigned 'P' to the inventory, and now F8 opens the inventory instead... And before you ask: this only happens in BG:EE. Doesn't happen in windows, doesn't happen in any other games.
I don't have any software running to remap keys or something. I restored my laptop to factory settings just last week and did a clean install of the beta. Just to be clear: this bug isn't new, it's been happening consistently since I acquired BG:EE when it was released.
It's possible that the F8 key on his laptop keyboard has a function (a system hotkey) that registers as a combination of buttons, one of which is a "p". The only way to test that would be to get him to plug in an external keyboard into his laptop and see if the problem remains, or to disable any system-installed keyboard hotkey software.
@TheSarge Its funny you should mention Rivatuner, as I use it for its OSD (or maybe precision X uses it? probably both) Anywho, I don't remember when navigating rivatuner settings seeing any sort of fan control or fan settings, although I may very well be wrong.
Furthermore, I have troubles updating Rivatuner but I will give it a try here again soon. Im not going to bother my comrade over a petty personal request. Hopefully I can get Rivatuner updated soon and that will be that
disable any system-installed keyboard hotkey software
Well, on one hand this seems to be the most likely scenario, on the other hand the only software detecting a 'P' is BG:EE. I've used the laptop for more than 3 years now and have never experienced this until BG came out. Also, none of the other function keys seem to produce such side effects. Plus, I'm not aware of such software coming pre-installed on this laptop. How would I find out which - if any - software is installed?

If you're using Windows 7, go to your control panel, and click on "Programs and Features" (it might also just be called "Programs" if you're using the default Control Panel view). There will be a list of all installed programs. If that program is installed on your computer, it might be the cause of your problems.
The only reason I brought it up is because a friend of mine had a similar problem with a piece of software a few years ago, and we eventually realized that it was the keyboard-specific hotkey software that was causing the problem. It's a long-shot though.
Still, the fact that it only happens in BG2:EE is a little odd, and suggests it might be a combination of factors.
Thanks for the help but I've removed all HP "utility" software including said tool (and [fn] keys no longer do anything). That said, "HP Quick Launch Software" only works in combination with the [fn] key (e.g. [fn] + [esc] to open system information). I'm not pressing the [fn] key to reproduce the issue I'm having with BG:EE.
Thinking about that, the F keys do have secondary functions on this laptop: F2 & F3 for example control the screen brightness. F8 is a "fast forward" button for windows media player. I'm still not sure though why "fast forward" would equal "P", and only in BG:EE.

Yes, hotkey software is exactly what this sounds like but if there's any installed on my laptop there is no trace of it left in the program list.
EDIT: I've been playing the beta and besides this issue (which seemingly only affects me for a strange reason) I think the patch is good to go.
[ctrl] + [F] is next song (also F8) [ctrl] + [P] is play/pause (also F7) [ctrl] + [B] is previous song (also F6) I should note that F8 works system-wide, whereas [ctrl] + [F] only works within windows media player, and opens the search bar in this browser, for example. If I have windows media player opened and playing BG:EE, [F8] will open the cleric spellbook and skip to the next song. In any other program, [F8] just skips to the next song and does not intervene with the program.
@Dee Since you closed the Bug Hunt thread, I didn't get a chance to reply. But no, neither I nor @Tresset nor @Gate70 were able to reproduce the issue with Feldepost's men and Silke. Maybe it was a freak accident due to lag or some such.
Remember to Bug-Report but i've forget to take to write:
In the German writing Prologue about growning in Candlekeep and go on...
Please fix the vocal synchro in German. I hear the double sentences in bugged version typed by speech to English understand:
Nestled atop the cliffs that rise from the Sword Coast, the citadel of Candlekeep houses the finest ond most comprehensive writings collection of writings on the face of Faerun. It is an imposing fortress, kept in strict isolation from the intrigues that occasionally plague the rest of the Forgotten Realms. It is secluded, highly regimented, and it is home.
Within these hallowed walls of knowledge your story begins. You have spent most of your 20 years of life within this keep's austere walls, under the tutelage of the sage Gorion. Acting as your father, he has raised you on a thousand tales of heroes and monsters, lovers and infidels, battles and tragedies. However, one story was always left untold: that of your true heritage. You have been told that you are an orphan, but your past is largely unknown.

Today, Gorion appeared more agitated than ever, and now he has uncharacteristically interrupted your chores in the middle of the day. Imparting hurried instructions for you to equip yourself for travel, he has handed you what gold he can spare, but given no clues as to why. Nevertheless, you now stand before the Candlekeep Inn, ready to purchase what you need for an unplanned and unexpected journey.
In German writed sentences are allright, but vocalication disappoint me the doubled sentence spoken.

These all are minor issues but I hope they can be fixed one day.

That's literally all I do. Nothing special, no workarounds.
Edit: I've now unassigned 'P' and it no longer happens.

An container in BGee > cuuuiic (open).... But no sound for close.
